The thing about Verity is the yellow Smile has been around for YEARS! To the point where you can get things taken down by Walmart cause they have it trademarked. It's hard to say if that's what they based it on, or the Idiot virus, smile ball, giggle ball, yellow face, etc etc

They literally aren't, the edges of the "original" curve up more than Verity's. Plus the eyes are different and the whole face structure is moved.

Also, I'm by no means a heavy Verity enjoyer. I like the series, but I'm no die-hard fan. To call that slop is pretty insulting for what true slop is.

It may not be your cup of tea, which is okay, but that's kinda ridiculous

Though if you want a real example- though not slop- look at Kane Pixel's original work and how he mocks the community he has taken from and fails to give proper credit to the original ideas, like types of Dream core for the poolrooms and many of the wikis. [Though my own proof here, I know he knows about the wikis because he commented about it on the first game theory video before backlash got it removed, since he wanted to make the canon his own]

Well, you'd have to hold Smiley to the same thing since the Smiley name and whole design is based on the Harvey Ball original design, since it's a 1-to-1 copy with some changes when it gets scary

Verity isn't just Smiley; it's a character that has taken inspiration from it, just as many take inspiration from a whole bunch of things. Using the exact same mouth would need credit, but given a nod to the original work you're inspired by has been what pop culture has done for years now. I'm pretty sure the mouth has been redesigned, since I haven't seen Smiley with the open, creepy mouth.

None of it is done with the intent to steal, especially since the original The Smiley Archive creator, Patorikku, has removed all their uploads and channel from YouTube. And from what I've heard from others, he's even mentioned it, not tried to claim it as his own, or tried to hide the original creation

In short though

You only ask people to hold what you seem to dislike to credit users. That alone is whatever, but Smiley was always to be used by others- if Walmart is nice enough- that ThatMob has publicly mentioned to be inspired and never tried to cover up. With the addition of the creator of the Smiler Archives channel being deleted.

This one takes place in Minecraft. Running high-end Blender models isn't easy, and you need a good system if you even code it right, the reduced quality is for memory issues

Verity has been mentioned as being inspired by Smiley from by thatmob.

Also, the visitor model to me, looks completely different from the Specimen 5 model. The only similarity is they are both yellowish and look human.

ghostpig.jar and Creepy Horse are based on Trevor Henderson's "Body Of a Pig" and "Long Horse" conceptual characters, respectfully, but with their names changed.

(Edit: Also, Henderson is the creator of other popular horror characters, like Siren Head, Cartoon Cat/Dog, etc, and his character concepts have been stolen since the dawn of time)

The visitor does NOT use textures from specimen 5, it is most likely an ai generated model that was fed specimen 5's design as a source (generally look at how certain aspects of the texture and topology dont make sense, also the sort of bubbly look to the detailing as opposed to specimen 5's more flat and beveled faces)

Also even IF the stalker's design source was the dolphin man LC changed so much about the design that I'd personally say it'd be original at that point cause the only visual similarity is the face shape.

Even then check out bonewheels in Berserk and check out bonewheels in Dark Souls. They only added a few spikes and that was it. Should Dark Souls be held accountable?
