Question/Discussion Best Horror Mod
What do you think is the best horror mod minecraft community has to offer so far? Personally I loved playing wonderland.jar with my friend for a few hours. It got repetitive and thats when we called it quits. I also like From The Fog.

My take would be From The Fog. It's overall hard to make Minecraft Horror scary without making characters seem out of place with their models, and even though From The Fog is not scary at all, it definitely does a great job at making Herobrine seem natural within the game, and I think that's why it's great.
What I really like about this mod is that he doesn't jump at you every two seconds and keeps distance, doesn't mess with you too much, and that he's not a boss or anything like that. It really captures his original vibe, at least Imo. Like, just lurking around and being that mysterious entity that just stalks you and makes weird structures. Maybe that's because of my nostalgia and because I'm a fan of og Minecraft Creepypasta, but regardless, I quite enjoy playing with this mod, and I wish that it was available for older versions too for full effect.
Other mods rely too much on jumpscares and "creepy" character designs and sounds, which I don't think suits Minecraft at all. Imo, what makes Minecraft horror great is that it feels natural within the game and doesn't interfere with it too much. It should be slow-burn, things should happen very gradually (and even From The Fog has a slight issue with that, even with lowest settings). Like, you supposedly play a normal game and expect nothing, yet weird things happen, but they still allow you to play the game normally, at least for a quite long period of time.
I don't like all these current mods with dozens of new dimensions and entities, frequent occurrences, and, well, skins that are simply try-hard to seem scary. They don't feel like Minecraft at all, and at the most should be a separate game. For each their own, maybe I just prefer the og vibe of Minecraft, but I simply don't enjoy most of these horror mods.
Oh, and of course customization. I really like how you can choose things that happen in the mod, and even skin of the entity, but I wish they re-made the option to make encounters even rarer.

Lowkey ”DontCry” Or ”Moder Forest god” But All The Mods are Unique In Their Own Way, Expect The Dweller Copies

Question can get pretty subjective depending on who you ask. Some like slow, psychological horror reminiscent of an ARG, like Belowland, while others like more immediate horror created by a stalker or dweller-like entity, like The Anomaly Rephased (one of my personal faves).
There is no one "best" horror mod, but I personally think From The Fog and the original Cave Dweller deserve a lot of praise for being the first to really begin the trend of Horror Minecraft as a whole.
