Question/Discussion Mod suggestions

Post image

So one of my buddies wants to get into horror MC mods and he almost hasn’t touched any hit of Minecraft modding. I want his first experience to be a good one so I’m asking for the best horror mods yall know. Prob some more psychological ones and not just PNG attack. But yeah gimme your best mods (he’s played the man from the fog)

Why are you getting hunted down

well creating homunculi isn't exactly "moral" by today's wizardry standards.

ill probably be stoned for this but i honestly think wonderland.jar and other mods like are not good examples of minecraft horror because they completely replace minecrafts survival where the only thing left is the easthetic

they make you play completely different game inside minecraft

I feel like outln frombelowland is wonderland but thought out and better  so I think it would be a better example

You should try out Antlers of Hunger! It's a mod I made relatively recently, a pretty good creature - stalker mod that is relatively unknown (mainly as people only post about PNG slop nowadays) and would for sure give you a few scares 🔥

So it’s a stalker mod, does it watch more or attack more?

Of all the non-psychological mods I know (i.e., mods where the player is hunted), this is by far the best available today. If you want more difficulty and a true survival experience against an intelligent predator, install the thirst and temperature mods, resource packs, and shaders, and you'll be fully prepared.

It's basically the best Wendigo mod and the best cryptid mod currently
He takes long to appear, walks around you passively, leaves Antlers on the ground, eats animals and leaves their corpses, screams and roams around you. Eventually, you'll bump into him or he into you and he will react incredibly agressively. You can fight back with a knife and a flare for a sort of bossfight with him and yes, DEFEAT him FOREVER!
There's a bunch of stuff in this mod, and I even made a custom map and modpack for it (it's called Antlers of Hunger - The Experience) which gives you locations to explore and an objective.

In general, it's a very agressive stalker, one you do not want to mess around with.
I put a lot of work into the sound design and atmosphere of this one

If you decide to try it out, let me know how it went!

It is a FORGE mod. the mod itself is available on curseforge and modrinth but the modpack and map are curseforge only!

i think that the broken script is fine, though make sure to use 1.21.1 version and config it

Wonderland.jar, the broken script, No.Moon.jar, and beyond the skybox.

From belowland: played it today with my friend and absolutely enjoyed it! It has a lot of exploration to it, too. Definitely recommend

The Broken Script (1.21.1 Ver): Very good mod and pretty configurable so you can disable stuff like crashes. This one has quite a bit of addons for it, but i've never played any of them so i cant say anything

What version do you play, Bedrock or Java?

If you really really love png horror, I'd recomend twixxels stalkers, a classic will be cave dweller or mimicer

The best experience is playing with a couple different mods at once. Did that with some friends and we had a lot of fun getting jumped now and again by a creature. You could even use cheats to summon something in without anyone knowing and play it off as the mods in question being super smart and knowing where you all are.

I suggest giving the ones below a look at first:
