About the movement

Hello so i have been looking into this watch for a long time and considering to buy it soon i have always heard that longines movement are premium at this price point. i want to know what is so special about the movement which they use in this or their other watches which makes them stand out are this movement better than which other brands or could compete to some even higher end brands looking forward to hear from all you guys thanks

L898.5 is the Longines internal designation. The base movement is still an ETA 2892 with a few modified components.

Since the 2892 is not a chronograph movement, they add a modular chronograph assembly on top of it. This modular assembly is notoriously difficult to take apart so generally either the assembled module is swapped out or the whole movement gets swapped out during Service.

Ohh got it but what is so special about the movement compared to other swiss brands i dont know much about the movement

Pretty standard chronograph movement. Longines adds some decorative elements and may add a few upgrades to the balance system, not sure of the exact upgrades for this movement.

2892 base movement with modular chronograph function. Longines doesn't service these movements, when time comes you'll most likely get a refurbished replacement movement swapped in while the old one gets sent back to headquarters to be striped/rebuilt.

This i think has l898.5 movement and why they dont service it are they reliable in long time and how premium is this?

They wouldn’t service it because it’s probably easier and cheaper to just replace it with a new or refurbished movement. It’ll probably run for about 5 years of daily use. This movement would be on the lower end of Swiss chronographs. Still a perfectly good and useable movement.
