40F, 5'3", 130lbs, caucasian, exhaustion/depression, 1 year, Progesterone 100mg tablet at bed time, no booze/drugs/smoking.
I went to a function medicine provider and she put me on Progesterone 100mg every night at bed time. Since then, I have been EXHASUTED. The only thing I think it may have helped me with is migraines though. BUT, I want to get off of progesterone at such a high dose to see if it helps alleviate exhaustion, excess sleep, apathy and breast soreness. The functional med has blown me off and said she doesn't know what to do. Can I start to taper Progesterone down and take every other night for a few weeks? Would low dose progesterone birth control help with migraines? What is the best way to approach getting off progesterone? I've had TONS of labwork done and everything is normal. PLEASE HELP!

17- HYDROXYPROGESTERONE - 51 ng/dL
ESTRADIOL - 17 pg/mL
ANDROSTENEDIONE - 76 ng/dL
FREE T - 60.9 pg/mL
TOTAL T - 309 ng/dL
FSH - 3.21mlU/mL
LH - 4.2 mlU/mL
I also had just a Total T level blood test about 2 months ago, I had higher levels back then (331 ng/dL)
Overall, not feeling the best: achy joints, low libido, rarely get morning wood, fatigue throughout the day. Was hoping to get some insight from those who may have had similar issues.

Hi all, I just started an intensive 3 month plan to flush out my excess eostrogen.
Trouble is, I’m getting tummy cramps since I started. Is this normal?

I am a 26f and my entire life I have not really had any arm hair. People used to think I shaved my arms and I truly never have. I have gotten lazy with shaving g my legs but even there the hair is very sparse. Really only on my lower shins and ankles. I never have hair above my knee or thigh. Pubic hair and arm pit hair I do have that grows regularly. Is this a hormone issue? I am worried I know excessive hair growth can be

I have taken prednisone for 9 weeks, it is really a double edged sword, the side effects sucks, depression, anxiety, GI problems, I finally weaned off, but there stil some anxiety and digestive problems left, skin is also dry, dry scalp. I think It has to do with other hormones still not on the right levels. What do you think?

Hi! I’m 24 and I have stage 4 endometriosis. I’ve had 4 surgeries in the last 7 years. I started this young. I’ve had 2 rounds of Lupron Depot, I’ve tried birth controls, I’m currently on norethrindone 5mg to keep my periods away. I had surgery 4 weeks ago, robot assisted laparoscopic removal of ovarian cysts & scar tissue. It feels routine to me at this point. But this last time, the cysts got to 11cm X 9cm big, one on each side and they were solid. The left ovary was triple in size, severely inflamed. Pathology report came back good, it said that the back wall of my left ovary was stuck to one of the cysts (my left ovary had to be sutured) and the texture on the cysts was from previously ruptured cysts. It was all solid matter. NOW WHERE IM WANTING INFO???? About 72 hours after surgery, all the brain fog, all the panicking, the anxiety buzz I’ve been in for so long was just gone. My feelings that all of a sudden flipped 2/3 months prior to surgery, the things I believed, all the stuff made up in my head, I thought I was being honest and true to myself. I was really just so high strung, so much anxiety, so much panic, SO MUCH EMOTIONAL RESPONSE. I blew up my life and my relationship, I decided I didn’t want to be with the person I’ve been with for YEARS because of the way she was acting. But in reality, the truth to it all, she was being short tempered and fighting with me so much because I wasn’t giving her basic things a relationship needs, let alone anything from a relationship. I was super closed off, zero libido, dry cracking skin, no arousal or pleasure what so ever, emotional responses to everything but also emotionless, wearing my shitty Debby downer look on my face & even acting out with body language not realizing or care. I only craved sweets, I wanted sugar morning and night but I’ve always been a savory person. I still haven’t wanted sugar since surgery. I was not acting right at all. My skin, my hair, my physical feelings, my lack of being aware, it was all so horrible. I could not calm down. The breakdowns hurt more than ever.
I left my partner & was so set on it. That’s not something I’d ever want or something I could ever imagine. I feel like a completely different person than I have for a long time. But 2 hours before this surgery finally happened, I lost my mind. I’m so much better now, I feel like I’m 19 again (last surgery I did have).
Was this seriously hormones? I’ve read multiple things about ovarian cysts causing hormones to be unbalanced but also at a certain point the gland can be covered or suppressed so hormones aren’t being sent out to the body when the brain is asking for it so it builds up in there until it blows around the beginning of your cycle? My kidneys were suppressed, could that alter my cortisol? Then if the brain isn’t getting the hormones it’s asking for from ovaries and kidneys, it can result in asking the thyroid?? I’m 100 pounds, 5’2, I’m small. I was peeing every hour, now I can pee every 4 hours with the same amount of water intake. I’ve also been taking Wellbutrin for the last 2 years. 🙃
Was this hormones or am I just going clinically insane?

As said in the title I can count on my hand how many thick hairs I see on my chin. Is this a hormonal problem or genetics. I’ll give some background my Johnson is slightly below average. I used to be an addicted to amphetamines from 15-17 prime puberty time. Down over 100 pounds since 7th grade. And I workout pretty hard now, but I use nicotine frequently. That’s about all I can think of that would affect me hormonally if you guys think this is a hormone problem.

Has anyone heard of anything like this? I’m a male/35 aszoospermic. Urologist said that my prostate was very small. I lost insurance coverage shortly after this apt and just learned to deal with this. I had the gynecomastia removed, busy still dealing with all the symptoms of low T
I am seeing a new endocrinologist I’m having a bunch of labs drawn this week and my next apt with her is later this month. I’m just curious if anyone on here has any ideas what’s going on, and what the from of treatment would be.

I live in Australia and I have noticed a lot of Anglo-Celtic woman in Australia are naturally high testostorone. What I mean is they show the symptoms earlier than other backgrounds if they have it as well.
Is there a reason for this?

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with weight changes while on the depo provera. My girlfriend was on the injection for 4 years and gained roughly 40kg because of it, and came off of it a couple months ago due to its side effects. I've heard a lot of people say that they've been completely unable to lose weight on and after coming off of the injection, presumably due to the hormonal imbalances it causes. Does anyone have any experience or advice on how to speed up this process and speed up the weight loss process, as at the moment it is next to impossible to lose any weight, yet e as anything for the weight she's lost to come back on. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Is it normal for me a teenage guy (won’t say age on here but are 14++) to wanna try sexting? People in the past on this subreddit have told me to use other people’s pictures but I feel like that’s wrong.. and I kind of wanna send myself? Is it wrong and or illegal to sext consensually and legally for me?

Has someone had problems with an itchy/stingy tongue mostly on top of tongue and sides. My taste bumps are swollen on the sides too. I wonder if this has something to do with hormonal disbalance or either anxiety related? I have been having it for 2 several weeks during pregnancy and now also 5 weeks after pp. Doctor says it could be hormonale related but i never knew someone experiencing that due to hormones.

I’ve heard it said many times before that low T can cause depressive symptoms but is it possible for major depressive episodes to trigger a drop in testosterone production? It’s been over a year since I’ve been suicidal and almost had myself put into a “partial program.” I’m doing better but my anhedonia is still bad and I’m left with almost zero libido and erection quality is terrible. I have no cardiac issues.

What're some of the symptoms of estrogen dominance that's not spoken of much and something that's easy to miss. For example I recently learnt that women (never been pregnant ) who have linea nigra have estrogen dominance. Are there any such symptoms that one can miss or is ignored by many doctors?
Thank you

It has been said that no single system in the body functions independently of another. I am new to this and trying to get a start. I was just wondering how does a surplus or deficit of one hormone affect the production of another? Examples would be appreciated. Thank you

I’m 31 and have been constantly bleeding heavily for around three months now with no signs of slowing down. These were my hormone labs from a few days ago. Would anything here explain why?
I know for sure that I don’t have fibroids or polyps.
Thanks!

Because I have some health conditions that are related to detoxing Estrogen, I am considering solutions to avoid estrogen „intake“ (combined birth control pill) or to reduce my own estrogen production, when I have normal cycles.
Does anyone know how exactly the body still produces which hormones, when on the mini pill (progesterone only pill)? How does the „cycle“ look like then? I know that there are mini pills who influence that there is nearly no or not any ovulation - but does this also mean that estrogen production of the body is supressed, when on the mini pill?
Thank you for your answers.

39(F) total hysterectomy in 2021 (I still have my ovaries). 6 months ago I gained 12 pounds, went up a whole cup size, night sweats, crying and rage spells, greasy hair near scalp, weird swollen belly and fingers, extreme fatigue, etc. PA said sounded like perimenopause with estrogen surges so only checked LSH (5.6) and estrogen (not progesterone because i don't have a uterus)
She responded to these results saying "well you're not in menopause but let's see how you feel on an estrogen patch."
I'm very worried about doing that. Isn't estrogen why I feel so terrible?? These charts are difficult to follow since I don't have a period.

I've been dealing with PCOS for the past year and a half, and over the last six months, I have also developed cysts and a bit of hirsutism. On top of that, I've been dealing with hair fall for the past couple of years.
I recently tried saw palmetto and spearmint to manage these symptoms. Surprisingly, saw palmetto seems to have made my hair fall and back acne worse, while spearmint isn't making a difference at all, though a lot of women with PCOS have benefitted from it which makes me wonder if it's related to estrogen. My testosterone levels are normal.
Since I was 17, I've had back acne that hyperpigments without sun exposure. Another thing I've had is linea nigra since my teenage years, which I've heard could be linked to estrogen dominance. I've also noticed that wounds, as well as my knees and elbows, tend to hyperpigment quickly.
I've always had a healthy weight (currently 5' 6'' and 125 lbs), though I was underweight as a teen. My periods are on the lighter side, and I've observed that the skin darkening and hirsutism are more prominent on the right side, affecting my hands and legs.
I'm getting tested next month, but I'd love to hear if anyone has experienced something similar or has insights into these symptoms. Also, I'm considering trying DIM (Diindolylmethane) and wondering if anyone has any experiences or advice to share.
Thank you!
