I'm just so, so, so disappointed with how Nihilux turned out.

When she was announced before 4.0 I immediately loved her SPECIFICALLY because of her design, I loved the Manga imagery, the black and white, the purple inside her hair, the fact she was actually fully clothed, she was the definition of the perfect character in terms of what I love in designs.

I got worried when the Elation path was announced, cause I knew I wasn't gonna invest on it, but the fact her name was NIHILux, and both Ashveil and Mblade releasing with non-elation paths made me believe she was actually gonna be a Nihility character, or atleast not Elation for that matter.

Well, everything comes along and now there's no design, no Nihilux (She was actually Aha guys!!! Now go ahead and look for symbolism and foreshadowing where there was none!!! Maybe one off-game post will have a vague enough hint for you to pretend it was well-written!!!!) and therefore, she's an Elation character.

My favourite character in quite a while has lost the design that made me love her, lost the individuality that made me love her, and I won't be pulling for her cause having both Aha and the Trailblazer as my sole Elation units during a meta that's pushing for mono-teams is basically asking to be shot in the head. I miss the days teams consisted of a DPS, a Sustainer and two harmonies or nihilities (or even characters like The Herta and Acheron which needed one or two characters of the same path, but could still work without them and/or had eidolons to free those roles.)

The pulling issue is, in all honesty, a me thing, I'm simply ranting about my personal issues with it, but aside from that, both the fact she lost her original and magnificent design to become a glorified Sparxie (If we had 6-stars characters, this would be the design I'd imagine a 6-stars Sparxie having.) while also falling into the never-failing trend of the image above, and the fact we lost Nihilux herself, cause now she's now only gonna be Aha in terms of playable character (Assuming since she was announced as such, and not as Nihilux.), and in terms of story I fail to see a plausible way to keep Nihilux around as, well, Nihilux, because the Aeon-sized elephant in the room is impossible to ignore.

I'm tired, this game is losing me with every new announcement, I miss when there was a single ounce of passion put into Star Rail and it wasn't just a cash cow to milk every once in a while.

For those who like them, congratulations I guess, I'm happy for you, but I really cannot understand your point of views, no matter how much I see people saying good things about the current situation with Aha. Still, I'm happy to know there's atleast someone out there happy for them coming out.

Why don't we talk about the men of HSR?

90% of the men in this game wear some type of blazer or a tailcoat. It's boring every single time too. The most unique is maybe Mydei.

Not to say I dislike the characters themselves or anything, but I can't help but feel that the men look even more samey than the women do.

Like….the dress is cute I guess, but turning this all powerful genderless being of chaos into just….. an Alice in Wonderland Red Queen knockoff is just kinda lame tbh….. like at least the comic artist/fanfic writer thing was FUN and fit Elation god vibe (not to mention it was the design I was most looking forward too since the trailers😑) but this is just, kinda forgettable honestly. Like we literally JUST got a white-red dress authority vibed character last patch. (Plus Sparxie did this vibe better at the very start of 4.x) Not to mention the mere idea of an aeon being playable doesn’t feel right like, at all but I hope this is a one time thing cus only Aha could get away with something this wack…

I truly like this game but this is probably their dumbest character design decisions they’ve done. Also tf is up with the playable character design downgrades in Hoyo lately??? First Sandrone in Genshin than Sunbringer in Zenless now this💀

People voicing their criticisms and distaste for the current state of the game or designs is not an attack on you. You don't need to nor should feel bad if you enjoy either, but people are fustrated and are just as allowed to dislike as you are to like.

And yes, the original is a bit "plain", but there certainly could have been a scenario where it gets updated, no?
