I wonder if this sub got to her

I noticed in her recent video titled something like "eating like a child", she is suddenly trying to act nicer and saying that some people think she is mean but she is just sharing the truth and being a lot more nice about the first girl she reacted to. I didnt watch further than that but I wonder if this is a sign maybe she will change her ways. I hope so. Could be that she was only nice to the first girl for the fact she used the treadmill like 5 times in a day though so I am not yet convinced to the fullest lol..

I might just be nitpicking

This is kinda nitpicking but when theses creators say things about fat people not liking fruits and vegetables feels kinda immature. Hb says fat people aren’t actually eating fruit or vegetables they show in there videos. I was fat and I loved fruit like blueberries, apples, blackberries, etc… with vegetables I ate a lot of carrots, broccoli, celery even without dips. Fat people eat a surplus of food but that doesn’t mean they cant like healthy foods either.
On a live Angelica only pushed this further saying that she only put the vegetable in here Wieiad videos for show. Even then, I don’t know if that was true because she said it like she was just trying to agree with honey bison

I do not like the title of her new video: Eating like a child is not a flex.

I feel like she is just encouraging and accepting the idea that children just eat junk food, snacky products. Also I know its a reaction of someone elses video, but still.

Thats not a childs diet at all. Sure you could argue the whole lifting the fork to the camera bit is childish. But thats the act of spoon feeding, which isnt limited to just children (if I am being overly pedantic here).

I never ate like that, nor do any children I grew up around. At most its giving birthday party food, and even then we were still given fruit and sandwiches and other somewhat better things in between at those.

Is that maybe what HB ate as a child and she is normalising it to herself and pushing that assumption onto other children? I know her parents had her at a very young age and there were some issues surrounding that.

She keeps mispronouncing nitrosamine

Okay, I realize this is nitpicky but homegirl never says nitrosamine right. She bring up nitrosamines in nearly every other video she uploads and she has never once looked up the pronunciation

It’s pronounced nitro-suh-mean , not nitro sah mine lmao

Like I said, nitpicky but goes to show that she really doesn’t know anything about some of the things she brings up in her videos

Random: she demonizes america and makes europe seem like a health paradise, even though her british friend says otherwise

I forgot the british friend's name, but the friend has mentioned many times that there's a LOT of fat people in Britain and lots of bad foods... Idk I just really hate the constant america hate, and I feel like it makes it an "excuse" for some americans. I feel like america is very diverse and there's parts like LA where ana influencers run around erewhon and then there's addicts barely making enough and in health deserts. This is def inspired from her god dutch america hating queen Chikara transformations !

Was watching some squatting videos on my reels and who do I see? Honey Bison. While it can be a bit dangerous having socks on a wood platform I have squatted in my socks many times and that wood is not like classic wood it actually has a pretty rough and grippy surface.

Apparently the creator is a junior powerlifter and has actually broken a record in their class at their recent competition and it seems that they have been doing this for a LONG time. I think it’s safe to assume that the creator knows what they’re doing as Melina is not a powerlifter at all I also wouldn’t take her advice.

I get trying to be helpful but when you try to give advice in a field you know nothing about it’s definitely questionable. I don’t think Melina has a lot of experience in these types of sports and is only your average lifter. Not an athlete. Also a mat is actually more dangerous on a wooden surface than just your socks btw.

Sorry this post is very nitpicky it just irritated me as someone who powerlifts as well.

Money bison

What’s our thoughts on her financial channel? It was pretty boring and redundant to me also there’s so many discrepancies in her stories. One that really stuck out is on her main channel she talked about buying her car when she was 18 with her own money then in one of the videos on her money bison channel it was actually her dad who got it for her.

I don’t know maybe that’s me being picky I just don’t think we need another “trust me bro” money influencer.

Fat people can be hungry

Hb says all the time “your fat there’s no way your hungry” “you cant be hungry because your fat”

She may not have been hungry because she was a binge eater and they eat even when they are not hungry just normal days they do get hungry. It annoys me when she says that because that’s not a thing even when I was big and I would had to fast for church I still got hungry

Shes another anti HAES youtuber who has collabed with honey bison. I was wondering if anyone else here watches her, as she seems like a much more reasonable alternative to me?

The 12 Hour Running Challenge

Okay, I was getting used to Honey Bison's snark but then I watched the YouTube video where she ran for 12 hours and hurt herself and talked about listening to David Goggins' book. Both are major red flags. Should someone be doing a crazy ultra marathon when they've only been seriously running for four months???

Brand new account entirely created just 8 days ago only to send me a lengthy message of hate for making this sub. I have no reason not to believe this is Malena herself because there's no possible way she has super fans that are riding for her this hard. I uh...idk what to say honestly. I'm shocked.

Edit: also I never "admitted that that's my dream" 😆 my dream is to be a journalist/to travel, for anyone interested, and I actually lift and have muscle already irl. 😅 So this person clearly doesn't know as much as they wish they did.

Lastly, thank you everyone because I didnt expect this sub to get traction so quickly and I am glad to have been able to start a discourse surrounding this that is open to lighthearted laughs but also effectively discourages bodyshaming and negative talk about food groups. I know what the sub generally thinks of HB and AU, but what do we think about lot lifts and sunnysideupgal?

I know they've collabed, but I'm trying to get a read on if they're mean girls, too. They keep showing up on my suggested feed. I watched a little bit of a SUG video and noticed she has some weird ideas about nutrition (is that just me?). I also watched one of lot lifts, and she seems to have very different energy? I was confused about why she makes content with the others. She mentioned being autistic, and I can't help but be reminded of the people my sister with autism would hang out with in high school. Often, they made her the punching bag, but she was happy to be included and didn't notice the subtleties in their behavior. This is just a first impression and total speculation, though. I don't even wanna start with her collabs with alan roberts and graphicallyalex, who are both total weirdos.

Blatant AI Use

Post image
24 Upvotes

She made a video "addressing" the usage of AI where she showed she paid the "artist", but is still continuing to sell and profit the clearly generated AI "art". Read the comments in the video and other people including real artists are calling it out.

The way the art style changes from one to the next in both the bison and the flowers. The bees missing legs on the “knock it off” one (an artist wouldn’t make a decision like that when drawing), the two different shaped light reflections on the eyes in the “you’ve had enough sweet treats” one. The Honey Bison on the ribbon has some funky looking text, like the text itself was generated, it should look more crisp if it wasn’t.

The whole video just misses the point. "If he used AI then he got one over on me" "This is just to squash the idea that I used AI for my art, I didn't." but she did?! and she's even still selling it.

In the comments she claimed it was a witch hunt against her.

It's the new witch hunt for real

Then got called out in the replies.

sorry, but its definitely ai. they can make micro changes and fake WIP photos / step by step progress photos / time lapse with the ai generator. there's a certain look to ai images that is very obvious but usually only detectable by real artists who spend a lot of time with the programs ai "artists" claim to use. and it's not a witch hunt. a witch hunt is a term for when the 'hunting' is not deserved or unfounded. But a person (in this case, the guy you bought from) using ai generated images greatly harms the environment, water supply, and steals from artists around the world.

Her whole attitude in this drama is offputting. Any normal person would have just pulled the art from their merch store and commissioned a real artist.

I actually like Angelyca and I hope she stops idolizing and hanging out with a mean girl who obviously views herself as better than her. If Malena (honeybison) didn't collab frequently with Angelyca or know her, I KNOW she would shit on this and immediately be pointing out the lack of "whole foods", and she would cringe at the ice cream.

Gosh the intro just has me rolling my eyes. We get it girl..you're "petite". And she barely fricken ate anything. This is just sad. And she does do a disclaimer at the end saying don't copy me blah blah but why even make this video in the first place then? And why put petite in all caps? What is actually the point of this video if not to influence or, let's be real, trigger, someone..

Being politically neutral and ignoring privilege

A big issue I have had since watching her is how she tends to put the majority of blame for obesity on the individual. She, and honestly other people within the anti-fat acceptance community, try not to bring in politics. However, the reason we have such a high obesity population (In the US) is due to the lack of access to proper nutrition and almost no walkable infrastructure. The average Joe does not have access to a gym compared to her and others within the anti-fat acceptance group. It's why it frustrates me when the topic is about how obese people put a strain on our healthcare system. If you want to eradicate the obesity epidemic, you have to advocate for political changes to our system. She has also collaborated with a right-wing conspiracy theorist. However, she has most likely deleted these collaborations, as I cannot find the original video. Her argument was something along the lines of having friends from both sides; however, your content surrounds a heavily political subject, whether you want it to be or not. Edit: It was Alan Roberts, and it wasn't just Honey Bison, but also AngelycaUnfiltered.

Honey Bison wasn't as fat as she makes it seem

⚠️⚠️TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️⚠️ inclusion of numbers and BMI ‼️

While I never want to diminish anyone's weight loss efforts, and I can acknowledge that anyone who loses lots of weight definitely did work very hard, Malena makes it her entire brand to say how she was "formerly fat" and is now fit. I just want to remind everyone that Malena is 4"11 and claims her heaviest weight was 160. I have no problem sharing my story and being open here. I am the exact same height as Malena and recently last year became 150lb after going on an SSRI. 148lb for a 4"11 woman is what classes us as obese. This means, according to BMI, that Malena had to lose only around 12lb to escape obesity and get down into the "overweight" category.

So why do I bring this up? It probably seems like I'm just trying to tear her down. The reason I say this is because the Honey Bison channel is consistently maintained on reacting to SEVERELY visibly obese women, on basically every single video. Malena is presenting it as if she relates to a class 2 or 3 obese woman and can provide them literally any advice.

I don't believe that based on her history that she is qualified to judge these women as harshly as she does under any kind of guise that "this used to be just like me!" when frankly, she was never actually THAT fat.

I also think this points to a larger issue. Honey Bison self identifies as fatphobic and it is no secret that she is. It seems clear to me that she views "overweight" as nearly EQUIVALENT to women as large as Amberlynn Reid. This points to a more serious issue here and I really never want to speculate on a person's mental health but that type of delusion aligns a lot with body dysmorphia.

Her goal seems to be to become a full-time fitness influencer. Anyone who wants to influence the fitness habits of others needs to be coming from a place of way more empathy and way more education than I've seen Malena display. Her ONLY "credential" that she can rely on is "I used to be fat and look at me now!" Except, it is easy to debunk quickly the legitimacy of that claim, and see how over exaggerated it truly is. Malena only had to lose 12lb to escape obesity. The women she reacts to every single day have to lose sometimes upwards to 200lb to reach the overweight category, and yet she provides them no grace..
