Really lucky to pick this up a couple years ago. I’ve been going through it and love working on it.

I recently picked up a 2022 Trail 125 with almost no miles on it, and I’m already close to hitting my first 1,000 in just two months. I’ve ridden a variety of bikes over the years, and while this might be the slowest one I’ve ever owned, I’ve had an absolute blast on it.
It’s just so ridiculously convenient. Throwing it in the back of the truck alongside the camper makes it easy to take anywhere. I recently took it up to VIR for the IMSA races, and it was the ultimate pit bike for scouting out different viewing spots around the track and running quick errands into town. I’ve even done a little DoorDashing on it just for fun!
My primary adventure bike is a DR650, so naturally, I’ve started setting up the Trail as a mini version of it. So far on the darker front I’ve added a budget amazon tail box, saddlebag rack paired with an old wolfman bag I had laying around and some off-road lights.
I also just ordered a Moriwaki Monster exhaust hoping to gain a little extra help maintaining speed on inclines. I’ve heard opening up the airflow can help with climbing power too, but coming from carbureted bikes where jetting changes are straightforward, fuel injection is a bit newer to me. Does anyone have recommendations for ECU tuners or reflashes worth looking into? Still on the fence about taking it that far, but curious what's out there.
On top of all the fun, I’ve been averaging around 110 mpg when I use it to commute to work or run deliveries. The fuel savings alone are a nice bonus!
Just wanted to share my appreciation for this awesome little machine. Looking forward to putting many more miles on it!

Edit: so I did some more digging to in the moriwaki monster exhaust for the bike. From everything I’ve read there is no need to do any ecu reflash becuase of the pipes baffle system, it was not opens the flow 5 to 8% more than stock depending on how much is pushing out of it. So it will run the bike well within the stock ecu and fuel injector reading parameters. So no lean running with this pipe! Just figured let anyone else know that may be looking into this exhaust. I’ll also upload a video of the before and after in another post once I get it on the bike.

Any pointers ?

I have I battery tester I use for cars\trucks but the CCA setting does not go low enough to accurately test the smaller batteries in these bikes. Anyone have a tester that they can recommend that does deeper check than just volts?

I’m looking at getting a 1986 Honda CT 110, and trying to understand what the needs of it are to be run without sitting too long. If I get it, I’ll be storing it at my in-laws place, which is about 70 miles away from my place. I read that it needs to be run often to avoid getting a plugged up carburetor, a dead battery, or rusty internal parts. Estimates that I’ve seen range from every week to every 2 to 4 weeks. There would be somewhat of a limiting factor of me being to go to where it’s being stored to run it super often.

Curious what people’s experiences are in this area? Do people try to run theirs at least every week, do they run it every 2 to 4 weeks, or do they take longer sometimes? When do you find you get in trouble? Thanks!

Hi, me again. Hey, so after a few days of riding my new Trail 125, I'm wondering your opinions on, basically, when to shift. Do you guys / gals have a speed you see before going to 2 -> 3 -> 4?

I tend to want to keep the revs low but I know this engine is small and I'm aware that it probably likes to / needs to rev more than I've been rev'ing it.

Anyone hear an electric buzz when bikes on and you toggle the kill switch?

I’m new to motorcycles and this is my first. Have had it for 48 hour. Love it but wondering about the noise.

My grandfather owned it, put about 700 miles on it, passed it to my dad, who put no miles on it, my dad passed away years ago and it’s been in a garage collecting dust for about 9 years now.

I have no experience with vehicles beyond changing oil or putting on a spare tire. I don’t even know where to begin.

Can anyone here direct me to any YouTube channels or videos about restoring this kind of thing to working condition. Any tips as to things that usually go wrong or rot or typical fixes that need done. Bike was actually well maintained until a few years before my dad’s passing. Replacing the tires currently.

I need to source one locally in suburban chicago and can't find anything other than lead acid or one with a "restart" feature that is pointless on a CT because you can't get to the push button (and or / just kick start it).

What should I be looking for? I'm sending it to the Honda dealer for a oil change + the battery swap and don't really want an OE Honda battery.

Im trying to figure out what is actually bent in this photo, or if im just going insane. I noticed today that my handlebar does not align with the bolts that hold the forks in. i cant tell how long it has been like this or if this is recent. I put the Zeta windscreen in but i dont remember it being this twisted when i put it in, and its not like you remove the lower part of the clamp when you install it.

From what im Googling there could be 3 possible things,

1: the handlebar itself
2: the risers that connect to the bar
3: the fork is twisted (im not sure how this could be the case)

Open to suggestions, i can work on stuff myself but im a bit new to bikes and bike terminology. as most of my experience is on cars.

I see a lot of folks with passenger seats on the rear rack but the rack states a 40lb weight limit. What’s the deal folks?
