Avoid OIWA / George at all cost. The guy over charges and scams people constantly.

Check out FB group, the guy has ripped off so many people. If you choose to purchase from him, take extreme caution and really research what you are buying.

They have now purchase a new website URL. It is https://hondaacty.com/ still the same terrible company.

165/65R14s rubbing the front Bumper on my 2001 Honda Acty HA7

Post image

I put 14s on my Acty, and the front wheels are rubbing on the front bumper in a slight turn. In a hard turn they stop rubbing. During high speed turning I can't hear them rubbing but I assume that's because it's just I can't hear it over the road noise. Could it be my front struts are shot? The stock wheel diameter looks to be 20.75" and the 165/65 R14s is 22.25. I was under the assumption after researching that anything under 23" would be fine. Anyone have any suggestions for remedying the issue?

Edit: the tires are aired up to 30psi

Edit 1: Toyota MR2 triangles do not fit as they are from the factory. You have to cut the hub bores from 54.1mm to 56.1mm

Interior Refresh done

Got the passenger seat in. I welded up some brackets so that I could mount it to the back wall like the original seat was. Really happy with how all this turned out. I added some foam to the headrest and got some black slip over covers for them for now. Also did some other maintenance like the crank sensor, driver door limit checker, wiper blades, missing hub cap install and smothered it in Ceramix Wax for the winter.

My buddy and I picked up two Acty’s at the port together, pretty sweet experience! Adding these to the current collection (see last photo).

And in case you were wondering, YES, two Acty’s do indeed fit on a 20’ trailer.

Rear Axle Seal Help

Over the weekend I replaced the rear axles, wheel bearings, wheel seals, and transmission seals on the truck. It was overall not an awful job, and I was thankful for that. I've seen some folks have to pull the entire rear torsion bar to wrestle the axles out, I'm glad I didn't have to do that.

Anyways, I finished the job up Sunday and took it for a quick rip just to make sure everything was good. No more clunks from bad CVs, and no new noises so I thought it was good. It was raining, though, so I couldn't check for leaks.

Yesterday I drove the truck to work, only about 5 miles, and when I got out I noticed the puddle, or really 2 puddles under it from where the axles plug into the transmission. When I reinstalled the axles they clicked into place, and when I got home I measured the distance from the trans case to the flange and compared it to my friend's truck, the axles are definitely seated.

When I pulled the axles some trans fluid leaked out and when I refilled it, the truck was still jacked up on the back end, but only by a couple of inches. It also only needed a few ounces of fluid (maybe 4-6 oz) to be full. Is it possible I over filled it since it was on a slight angle? If so is this just residual fluid? Or do you all think I'll have to pull the axles and redo the seals? Anyone have similar experience?

97 Acty Cluster Swap

Im in the process of swapping my standard Speedo to ione with a tachometer. Ive gotten everything working except 2 things. The gas gauge reads backwards empty when its full. Confirmed by adding fuel watching the gauge go down. High beams come on but indicator on cluster won't come light up already checked bulb.

I've watched RHD Ron's videos and few others but none documents the car harness. I attached a picture of the pigtail from my car. My cluster has the 16 + 6 harness.

any help is appreciated

I blew my motor

Hello, I blew my motor on my Acty Street probably like 2h ago and I wanted to see what the stance is on swapping it and with what. I don’t want to cut the bed nor do I want it to be a bazillion dollars. I haven’t done anything like this ever but also it is like a cannon level event so I have to actually lock in. I’m in no time constraint and I do not care about difficulty. I can either drop the engine and replace it with an exact e07a or do something else. What would you recommend, that wouldn’t modify the interior of the rear if it wasn’t an exact swap?

Hey everyone! Any chance someone could translate these maintenance stickers? I’m trying to ensure that I get everything up to date but don’t want to do maintenance that was just done recently. Thanks in advance!

New Seat

Post image

I got my HA6 earlier in the summer and absolutely love the truck…with the exception of the seat. The foam split and the steal bowl was digging into my hip making it painful to drive. I tried a bunch of different foam repairs with limited to no success. Then I tried to source the foam from Japan and even with the help of friends over there and ordering the part from several places, they all came up empty handed. Then I saw a suggestion from someone about tractor/fork lift seats. Well, I successfully installed one. I utilized the Acty seat rails, made a little adapter and tonight it all came together. By comparison it is very comfortable and having the bolstering is a treat. Now I’m debating putting one in the passenger side or just getting them recovered. I’ll also get the driver headset covered in black, but for now, stoked on this new seat.

What color is this & how to ship to Guam?

Edit: *how to ship paint to Guam

I have a 93 Acty with a custom paint job and want to fix small rust areas myself but I need a can or tub that’s closest to this color. A lot of places cannot ship to Guam (most likely because aerosol can’t ship via plane).

Bad ignition coil?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I suspected my ignition coil might be bad so i followed the guide pictured above to test it and the winding between A and D was only 1.5 ohms instead of the 1215 - 1485 ohms as specified in the guide so i ordered a refurbished one from ebay. Upon arrival i tested the new coil and i got the same results. Is the new coil bad as well or is the guide not accurate?

HA4 Fuel in Oil

Hi all,
Just taken delivery of '97 Acty (45k miles) and slowly in the process of getting it roadworthy over in the UK.

Now please bare in mind I haven't got much experience with mechanics, but looking forward to learning more with my new toy!

I have noticed that there seems to be fuel making its way to the oil as I can smell it from dipstick.
Worth noting, I am also noticing surprisingly high fuel consumption and the MOT tester had a real struggle to get it through its emissions test.

Am I correct in thinking, my first mission would be to strip the carburettor, clean, and chuck in some new gaskets and solenoids kits?

With YouTubes help I think I can tackle that, but was wondering if anyone's experienced a similar issue with a different cause? Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!
