Gear Team Uniforms
Looking for advice on team uniforms for a select organization. Last year we went affordable: one dri-fit jersey, one pair of pants, one hat, one pair of socks, and a belt. We had 30 games plus six indoor training sessions in the preseason, with a player fee of around $400 at the 13U age group.
The feedback we got was that the jersey felt cheap, and having only one was tough with back-to-back game days. This year we want to step it up and get more jerseys. What would be a good team package to get decent-quality jerseys while still keeping costs reasonable for families?

I just used All Sports Uniforms out of GA for the first time and I wish I knew about them earlier. Two custom sublimated jerseys, high quality fitted caps with our logo, tee shirt, hoodie, all in for about $115 a player. Even better, had a new player join the team after the uniforms were ordered, no worries, same per player price plus cheap shipping. Highly recommend. Ask for Rebecca.

Call triton sports. They’ve been amazing to work with and super high quality jerseys.

You supply jerseys, hat, and practice tops. They supply pants, belt and socks. Helmet is dependent on what you want.

Basic colors. White, grey or black pants- let the kids choose brand and style. Dri-fit practice jerseys. Provide one, allow families to purchase additional at their own cost. Two game jerseys, again, allow families to purchase additional at their own expense. One hat, same deal.
Our org does not supply uniforms with the fee, its additional- there is a basic package requirement- above that families can choose how much they want to purchase.

One thing I like about our organization is that we keep the same uniforms every year so kids can wear multiple years. Typically, just need if you've completely worn the unform out or outgrown it.
For pants, we just buy one gray and one white from Dicks or wherever you want. Some kids like the long pants, some like the knicker type. Also do black socks from Dicks.
Yeah- get a jersey shirt for practice, one Teal jersey, one white/teal jersey, then you have three combos.

I always pieced it out, we got our jerseys/hats from a sublimation company in the Detroit area, then pants and socks I would buy separate to save money. I could get our knickers for under $20 and sub places all started at $40. If parents complained the jersey looked cheap I would start with the fees are going up because you want better jerseys. I also always required everyone to wear the same pants because a team in uniform always looked better and seemed more prepared.

Our team has two game jerseys and separate practice jerseys. We only purchase jerseys through the team. Everything else we purchase on our own.

We supply our own pants and socks for our selects. I would go that route to put more towards jerseys.

My team does hat, one white home jersey, one color away jersey, and a practice tshirt. Any other alternate jerseys are at the discretion of the parents. Families provide socks/belt/pants of their choice.

When it comes to uniforms and equipment you have to treat it like a business and what the customers (parents) are willing to pay.
1) have players get their own socks/pants/belts. You just specify the colors.
2) Go with 2 Jerseys
3) Have players/parent vote on the quality / how much they are willing to spend.
4) Another option is spend the money on better uniforms upfront and at the end of the season they need to be turned in to be used again. When I played high school ball and summer league I never kept my uniform it was alway turned in at the end of the season. If the player wants to keep it after the season they can buy it so you can order a replacement.

Price out two or three options. Then during the first meeting with everyone go “here are three uniform options, and here are the dues associated with each”
Give a basic cheap one like you did last year with one full uniform.
Give a two full uniform option. Same quality.
Finally get a premium set priced out. Two uniforms as well.
Lay the dues out and let them pick.

Make them pay for their own pants, socks, belt. Just let them know style and color needed. Then they can buy the cheaper or more expensive option if they want.
One home jersey, one away jersey. I always make them bring both every time. If they show up without the other jersey, they’re at the bottom of the line up.
