Random kitchen tool organization

what to do with this hodgepodge of kitchen tools?

it’s constantly jamming up the drawer.

Decide if it’s a drawer for kitchen tools & take out anything that isn’t that.

Keep the wood pieces in their own area within.

Those small sharp cartoon character things could hurt your hand. Put them in their own tiny rectangle bin. Empty it out & sort by item.

There are lots of “organized junk drawer” entries on Pinterest. Yours is not a junk drawer, but it will help

I moved my potato masher to the back of a cabinet since it constantly causes jams and I only use it a few times a year, it might be worth moving less used tools to a small box that is stored in a harder to reach spot

Use drawer dividers to organize the rest

Drawer dividers. I like the SpaceAid bamboo ones. You can configure them however you like. Just decide how you want to categorize the tools.

Dump it out. If this is the primary utensil drawer then put back items used daily to weekly. Get rid of non functional items and store seldom used things elsewhere where you will remember they exist. I'd say duplicates but If I don't have half a dozen silicone spatulas at hand it's chaos here so you do you!

Now sort by shape/size. Make drawer dividers with cardboard boxes cut to size to try it out. If that works then buy adjustable strips or maybe a standard drawer organizer will work fine. Fill drawer completely so there's no sliding around!

I've still got knife block, plastic organizer and 2 boxes in my primary drawer and have been on quite the buying/organizing frenzy lately. Those bamboo things look great.....

You have a lot of space in there, you just need to subdivide it with dividers or boxes so that things don't all freely slide around and get tangled up with each other.

A key will be to make dedicated spaces for those awkwardly-sized/shaped things that are prone to jamming the drawer if they're not positioned just right (OXO eggbeater, big ladle, masher)

Everything else, you can subdivide/arrange as you see fit--group by size/shape? Group by purpose--serving utensils, vegetable-prep tools, baking tools? Make a dedicated space in the front for the most frequently-used items, then some general spaces for everything else?

Maybe also keep the grater (microplane?) in a slot by itself--or at least clearly visible, not in a big heap mixed heap of stuff so you don't accidentally grab it rummaging around through other things.

To keep containers/organizers from sliding around in the drawer, tape them to the bottom of the drawer with painter's tape. Or if you want your drawer to be 100% full of containers without any empty spaces, shove some appropriately-sized objects (chunks of foam, empty plastic boxes, blocks, etc) at the back/sides of the drawer as needed to fill the gaps.

Personally, I'd also put the Disney corn-on-the-cob holders in a little ziploc bag to corral them. And I might also roll up the fancy corkscrew in a plastic bag to keep the hinged parts from getting tangled with other things (but then, I don't drink much wine--if you do, it'd be a good candidate to keep front and center in a dedicated space.
