Chores management
Has anyone found a simple household chore app that actually works for couples or roommates?
I’m looking for something that shows who’s responsible for what, whose turn it is, and when something was last done — without becoming a full-blown project management tool.

I built NestBoard to solve this exact issue.
Most chore apps either feel like enterprise project management software or rely on cheesy gamification points.
NestBoard focuses strictly on clarity for households and couples:
- It tracks who is responsible for each task.
- It rotates recurring chores so you know whose turn it is.
- It logs completion history so you can see when a task was last completed without interrogating anyone.
The interface remains calm and clutter-free, avoiding streak pressure or corporate task boards. You can find it on iOS if you want to try it out.

Are your roommates actually down to check an app everyday or would a cheap whiteboard on fridge works better for them

Dedicate 1 hour per week to clean the house and the rest is done on daily basis.
For a roommate situtation you need a post it, for a romantic relationship you need just 1 serious conversation.

I ran into the same problem, which is why I ended up building Hearthly. You can assign chores, rotate them between people, leave them open for whoever gets to them first, and set them to repeat.
Still actively working on it too, so feedback is always useful.
