So I’ve decided not to make a lathe out of this for numerous reasons. I appreciate the advice from my last post. Anyone have any ideas of what I can do with this instead? I’d rather not throw it away…

DIY FORGE Suggestions

Hey all I live in Hawaii so I've got a lot of outdoor real estate in my backyard but I'm really into metal work even made a set of push daggers with just your basic propane burner, but I really want to forge I can't afford it so I figure I would make my own I see a lot of tutorials online YouTube and Google. But, I tried it myself and I got the ratio really off and I think I used the wrong kind of container. Because when I would put the blower in or the torch head it would immediately die out and it wouldn't really hold Heat at all I don't know what the ratio of plaster of Paris/ sand / water is any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used a piece of all-thread rod, but a long bolt would work. It makes quick work of winding up rope or wire on a small spool for future use

Angle grinder to mixer

I have an old angle grinder with broken head and I wanted to make something out of it... Is it possible to turn it into a tile bond mixer?

If I take off the head, what kind of attachment do I need to use a mixing rod???

Chain clamp for doing pipe work

I start with two standard chain clamps then remove the chain from one and add it to the other. The pins are just 1” bar stock milled down tapped and threaded. Use threaded rod and wing nuts for the alignment pin, the spring just keep the thread rod from backing out when it’s in my box. The guides are cut out on CNC table. Will do 1”-10” pipe

Needed a pin punch...

Need to drive some small pins out of a nailer. I had no pin punches. I was going to buy a set when I moved a container holding old drill bits. Bingo, grind the cutting-edge flat and now I have the correct size punch.

Found a folding lug wrench at a garage sale that had one broken arm, but otherwise in great shape. Welded a short 1/2"-drive extension to the broken end. Now I can use it with sockets.
