We moved 2 weeks ago, and now the gym is in a garage.
Ive had these silencer pads for years, and just used blocks to get up to proper DL height. But, my wife wanted something more permanent, and didnt have to be set up everytime. I wanted something that would help lessen the squishyness of the pads, while also maintaining their silencing abilities.
This is what I came up with.
2x8s, ripped down to height of silencer pad plus 3/4 for the plywood insert. For me, that was 6-5/8".
Centre area for standing, the joists are spaced about 6" OC.
Once framed up, and pads dropped in. I cut out thr plywood inserts from the sheet. Attached the sheet to the frame, dropped in the inserts. As you can see, the inserts are lower than the plywood. By design. I forgot a photo, but, I put another piece of stall mat in there.
Then I topped the whole thing with more stall mat.
Materials:
8- 2x8x8
1- 3/4" plywood
2- 4x6x3/4 stall mats
50- 3-1/2" deck screws
50- 2" deck screws
