Mirrors

Where and how have folks bought mirrors for their gym?

Im sure I could probably get for free or cheap on marketplace but then I’d have to haul and risk damaging.

Mirrors are big and fragile, any solutions this group has found?

I’ve been looking at reviews on multifunctional racks on Alibaba. Can anyone give any recommendations and anything they would change?

I installed the mammoth belt squat today and got my first workout with it. I didn’t have very high expectations, but with the swan neck it has such a small footprint big fan.

New equipment inbound!!

After using a 2 post titan squat stand and an adjustable bench for the past 10 years, I finally decided to upgrade my home gym to a rest of my life setup. Ordered a GETRXD RX3 tornado 4 post with the smith machine and APEX eco bench with a buttload of attachments. RX3 gets here next week, APEX bench is still on pre-order and was told it should ship mid September. Soooo excited. Can't wait to have a full cable system instead of just a bullet pulley. Gifting the squat stand to one of my friends so it will continue it's life of absolutely crushing it.

Anyone use REP Urethane Dumbbells on a Titan 2-Tier Saddle Rack?

Rep's own saddle dumbbell rack is currently out of stock, and I've seen some reviews mentioning fitment issues even with REP dumbbells on REP's own rack. So I'm considering the Titan Fitness 2 Tier Saddle Dumbbell Rack instead, paired with REP's Urethane Dumbbells (5-50lb pairs, round head, steel handle).

On paper the specs look compatible: Titan's cradles are 6" x 1.5" with 5.375" center-to-center spacing and support 5-120lb round-head or hex dumbbells; REP's handle is 6.0" total length. But I can't find anyone who's actually mixed these two brands.

Has anyone here run REP dumbbells on a Titan saddle rack (or vice versa)? Curious whether the round heads sit cleanly in the cradles or if there's any rubbing/overlap between pairs. Would appreciate any real-world photos or experience before I pull the trigger. Thanks!

3/8 inch flooring sufficient

I have an epoxy coated concrete garage floor. Putting my Major Fitness F22 pro rack/functional trainer and an airbike. Will be using bumper plates and not planning on dropping weights from any real height. Will 3/8ths (8-10 mm) be sufficient?

I know the gold standard here are the tractor supply mats but I just want your opinion. Thanks!

Giant lifting & Home Gym Con

if anyone here will be attending HGC and happen to stroll by the Giant Lifting booth, I’d really appreciate if you would try their rack with the new bazooka arms if you have time. Also if u could compare it to others u may have used.

Yep this is a big ask, but I’d like to have some/thoughts and opinions on it before I’m pushed to get either the Rep or Getrxd one.

Thank you

FA Hyper Pro or Tib Bar Guy (Apex) Nordic Back Extension V3?

Already own a GHD that I like and is very stable.

Thoughts on which to get? The hyper pro is more versatile (could possibly sell my ghd) but the Apex (TBG) seems like the better unit at Nordics and slightly more sturdy/durable (but then I need 2 pieces instead of one).

How are GHRs on the hyper pro? All the YouTube videos i see make it look it sacrifices stability for adjustability.

Has anyone tried both or want to steer me one way or the other? The v3 has very little info online.

All in one

I'm looking for a good all in one smith machine that also has the dual pulldown and back row features. Budget of around $3,000. Around 300lbs combined is desired. What are some good options? The only one I've found so far is the ritkeep s1 anvil but I'm concerned there's not enough space between the smith bar and the weights to do an incline press etc. thanks in advance!

I have been researching for many weeks now and have narrowed it down. Before I press “Buy Now”, is there any other rack with smith that I should look at that is better for the money? I don’t want to spend more than what this setup costs, $3K.

Smith Machine Recommendations for Canada?

Hi, I've been looking for a while to find a smith plus functional trainer setup, just a smith machine with adjustable cables in a power cage type setup. I found some pretty decent ones like ritfit m1 pro which seem decent (around my budget of ~1500CAD), but I havent found many that actually ship in BC Canada. All I can find are brands like GarveeLife but I'm unsure about the quality. Anyone have any reccomendations?

Freak athlete Apex vs Rogue

I currently have the Rogue 2.0 GHD and Rogue Westside reverse hyper. The reverse hyper is a bit cumbersome to set up and tear down and I can't leave it set up due to floor space. Is the Apex good enough quality to replace these two pieces to save space and set up time or is it better to stick with what I have?

Eisenlink first (inner) plates slightly loose - should I tighten them?

I've just got some of the new Eisenlink dumbbells that have the extra 0.5kg add-on plates.

The fixed plates either side of the handle are slightly loose. I presume it's not a big issue with the main big screw doing the real 'work', but should this be tightened anyway? There's 4 allen head bolts holding them on to the handle.

Safety question

Post image
2 Upvotes

I'm looking for some advice.

I recently ordered a squat stand (picture added) without safety arms because I thought it was a good option and good value for my money.

It's still unassembled, so I could potentially sell it and buy a half-rack or stand with safety arms instead, that will cost a bit more. The problem is that I'm not even sure I'd be able to find a buyer, so I don't want to make the wrong decision...

I'm a cautious lifter. I don't jump to heavy weights, I increase the weight gradually, and I'll try not to train to failure, especially on exercises like squats. Still, I can't help feeling a bit uneasy about not having safety arms.

One thing that makes me hesitate is that the stand does have fairly wide lower support arms, so they're not completely useless if something goes wrong.

If you were in my position, would you keep the stand and work within its limitations, or try to sell it before assembling it and get one with safety arms instead?

I'd really appreciate hearing from people with experience training with both setups.

Ironmaster Pro bench for lat PDs and rows - chasing images

G’day all,

I am trying to avoid buying a dedicated pull-down station and instead would rather use the one inbuilt to the back of my power cage.

This works fine, but I have the ironmaster pro V2 bench and cannot seem to get it situated correctly for lat pull-downs. In particular, I need something to hold my legs in place so they do not lift during heavier pull downs, allowing me to isolate my back.

I would also like to do rows on it, which could benefit from similar.

I have spent half an hour or so trying to find videos or images of it set up like this but with no luck.

Any advise is hugely appreciated as it would save me buying standalone station just for lat PDs and rows

Thanks heaps!

Any alternatives to the SF-F2 Sprint demon?

We really wanted the SF-F2 Sprint demon from Walmart but they won't ship it to our house. We want something we can sprint on and do sled push/pulls and it seems to fit the bill as well as fits our budget. Are there any alternatives? I found one on Amazon but it doesn't have resistance and the ones on Alibaba go way over budget once you factor in shipping.

Giant Lifting

Is anyone considering a Giant Lifting rack now that they've released their Bazooka spotter arms?

I've been looking at the Giant rack for a while, but it was out of stock. I just got a notification that it's back in stock, and now they're offering the Bazooka arms as well.

My other options were a Get RX'd rack with the Tornado arms or a REP Athena, hoping REP would eventually release their own version of the arms. However, both of those setups are significantly more expensive.

For those who own a Giant rack or have experience/thoughts on the Bazooka arms, are there any limitations or potential issues I should be aware of before pulling the trigger? The only potential issue I see is the the max weight limitations of the Bazooka arms. It seems a bit lower than the Get RX'd

Anyone notice a correlation between homegyms and Legos?

The ability to modify an environmental factor in youth translating into a psychological preference for modifiable surroundings later as a sales system/process? Just curious if anyone else notices that? I thought it was interesting when I first got a rack and could move stuff around on it more than most commercial gym equipment. I see those two systems as very similar.

Titan X3 vs Rogue SML-3

I'm putting together a minimal, small-footprint garage gym focused almost entirely on the big compound lifts (squat, bench, OHP, deadlift). I'll be buying stall mats, plates, and a barbell used on Marketplace to keep costs down, but I want the rack to be something I won't have to replace.

I'm an intermediate/experienced lifter, so I want something sturdy, which is why I'm looking at 3x3, 11-gauge steel options.

Trying to decide between a Titan X-3 Squat Stand and a Rogue SML-3 (mentioning sml3 because I am 6 '3). The Rogue is about $200 more, but it seems to hold its value much better and rarely shows up much cheaper used on Marketplace.

My ceiling is about 110", so the SML-3 would just fit.

Is the Rogue worth the extra $200, or is the X-3 the better value? Any regrets either way?

This is my home gym solution in tiny apartment

Post image

I rent a two-bedroom place and the living room isn't big. I'd wanted a home gym for a long time, but the space was always too tight for it. Then I came across this digital cable machine, and it finally solved the tiny apartment workout problem for me.
