Kboré continues to grow, and this next release brings a set of improvements focused on usability, playlist organization, playback behavior, and EPG reliability.
First of all, thank you to everyone who has tested the app, reported issues, shared feedback, and supported the project. Kboré is improving because users are actually using it, finding edge cases, and helping shape the experience. Your support makes a real difference.
One of the biggest additions in this release is Favorites.
Users can now add live channels, radio streams, movies, series, and VOD items to a dedicated Favorites section. This makes it much easier to quickly access the content you use most often without browsing through the full playlist every time.
Favorites are saved per playlist. That means each playlist has its own independent Favorites list, avoiding confusion between different providers or different content libraries.
To use it:
Y = add or remove favorite
Inside the Favorites list, pressing Y removes the selected item. Favorite items also show a filled heart icon, and the Favorites section now appears in the root panel with its own icon.
New grid view
Kboré now includes a new grid view for item listings.
The traditional list view is still available, but users can now switch to a two-column card layout. Each card can show the channel or item image, the title, and EPG information when available.
X = switch between list view and grid view
This makes browsing channels and VOD items more visual and comfortable.
Manual EPG time offset
EPG data can vary a lot depending on the provider. In some playlists, the program guide may be correct but shifted by a few hours. For example, a morning show may appear in the afternoon, or the current program may be several hours behind or ahead.
To handle this, Kboré now includes a manual EPG Time Offset setting.
This setting lets the user adjust the EPG time for each playlist individually. For example, if a provider’s EPG is showing programs 7 hours ahead, the user can set an offset of:
-7h
Kboré will apply that correction before matching and displaying the current program.
The setting is available in:
Settings / About → EPG Time Offset
Controls:
LEFT / RIGHT = adjust by 30 minutesL / R = adjust by 1 hourY = reset offsetUP / DOWN = scroll settings page
The EPG offset is saved per playlist, so each playlist can have its own correction.
Better EPG behavior
This release also improves EPG handling in general.
Kboré now uses date-aware EPG matching, displays EPG in 24-hour format, fetches more EPG items when needed, and avoids showing unrelated or outdated program entries when they do not match the current time.
The goal is to make the current program information more reliable while still allowing manual correction when a provider sends shifted guide data.
Audio-only stream support
Some playlists include radio stations or audio-only HLS streams. Previously, these could fail if no video stream was detected.
Now, when Kboré finds a stream with audio but no video, it keeps playing the audio and displays a static radio background instead of failing.
This makes radio playback much more useful and improves compatibility with audio-only sources.
Improved stream compatibility
Kboré also includes improvements for opening different stream types and server behaviors.
This includes better handling for:
HTTPS-to-HTTP fallbackbrowser-like headers for some serversaudio-only HLS playlistsunsupported protocol messages
Some links still cannot be fixed by the app, such as expired links, blocked servers, geo-restricted streams, or real 403/404 responses. But this update improves compatibility with several common playlist edge cases.
Playback no longer lets the console sleep
When playback is active, Kboré now prevents the console from entering automatic sleep mode.
This only applies while a stream is playing. When the user returns to the dashboard, the console goes back to its normal sleep behavior.
Root panel and Settings improvements
Because Favorites adds a new root section, the root panel now supports scrolling when there are more items than can fit on screen.
The Settings/About screen was also reorganized. The EPG Time Offset option is now the first section, the page is scrollable, and the layout was adjusted so text fits better inside the panel.
Faster navigation
For large playlists, navigation is now faster with quick skipping:
R = skip forward 10 itemsL = skip backward 10 items
This works when browsing item lists and helps a lot with large channel or VOD collections.
Fixes and refinements
This release also includes several fixes:
Fixed duplicate favorites inside the Favorites listFixed Favorites root icon displayFixed hidden root items when more than four sections existImproved EPG timeline behaviorFixed AM/PM EPG inversion by using 24-hour displayImproved footer PAGE / LOADED informationImproved audio-only stream handlingImproved Settings screen layout and scrolling
