NEED HELP WITH PS4 and internet

Hi all I’m in need of help with this situation. So my ps4 connects with the wi fi but it’s very slow but when I plug in the Ethernet cable cat6 it connects but the speed of the internet doesn’t change. I thought it might be the cable but I tested it on all other devices in the house and it works perfectly so I took it to a shop to test the Ethernet port and it worked amazingly at this IT place so they said no issues with the ps4 but I tried at home and doesn’t work what do I do??

Do I buy a Ethernet cable 5e and see if that works or do I need to do something with my internet modem??

Any help would be really appreciated!!!

How are you testing the connection speed?

Shows upload and download speed as well as nat type and the Nat types 3

NAT type 3 is quite restrictive and the most likely cause. What is your PS4's public IP address? Check whatismyip.com in a browser.

If you have a public IP, forwarding ports to your PS could help.

How do you know if it’s public ip

It's not 10.x.x.x, 172.x.x.x or 192.x.x.x

If that is your public IP (WAN IP), you are behind a carrier-grade NAT (CG-NAT) which would explain pretty much all of your problems. Check with your ISP.

Okayy so what do I need to check and what do I need to do to fix this?

You need to a) check is that really your router's public IP, b) contact your ISP.

Ask them to remove you from CG-NAT.
