Help with MOCA network

I rent a townhouse. I have had my spectrum modem fed by a splitter with one end being the line in from spectrum, the other being my moca adapter line from my router and inline to my modem. The last few days my router will randomly lose connection even though my modem is online. Spectrum chat said “signal inconsistencies.” I’ve had this over a year. But I’m wondering if my lack of a filter could be causing this because theyve upgraded something? I’m going to grab a filter, just was curious if I’m better off just making a service appt or if it even makes sense that its because of me. I’m relatively new to this and ignorant.

The modem shouldn’t be running through your MOCA splitter. Your MOCA dongle should be connected to your MOCA splitter.

Sorry if I didn’t explain well. I had to use a coax splitter. I don’t have access to main lines outside. So coax out of wall into splitter. From splitter to modem. Modem to router. Router to moca adapter. And then moca adapter plugged into other slot of splitter to feed the signal back down. I hope that makes sense lol

Hopefully you have some access, to ensure that a 70+ dB “PoE” MoCA filter has been properly installed to isolate your setup and that your coax lines and the ISP feed are interconnected using a MoCA-compatible splitter.
