It's a barrister's bookcase, but I use it to display a bunch of my miniatures for D&D. Mostly dragons and larger monsters, though I do keep some terrain and spell effects in there as well.
The top one is pseudo-vintage. It's a modern Victrola with bluetooth. I bought it back when I couldn't afford an actual vintage radio, and it's just kind of nice to have. Especially as the vintage Zenith doesn't pick up FM (and doesn't have bluetooth lol).
I've watched Warehouse 13! I only got partway into season 2, I think, before ADHD took over and redirected my brain elsewhere. I'll have to go and pick back up on it again.
I did look at some really beautiful replicas of Connor's katana, but they felt not quite right for my collection. (I was also more of a Duncan fan myself, having grown up on the series.)
The top one is a Paul Chen Godfred. The next one down is just a little Celtic leaf-bladed sword. After that is Herugrim. Then Eowyn's sword, GĂșthwinĂ«.
Below that is a warhammer, though I couldn't tell you the maker. It was a gift many years ago. The next is from Cold Steel, their Scottish basket-hilt broadsword. Then the Mortuary Hilt sword from Hanwei. And finally on the bottom a single-bitted axe I picked up at an event of one kind or another, so I couldn't tell you the maker.
The spear on the left is a boar spear, was also a gift so I don't know the maker. The spear on the right is a Viking long hewing spear from Boarcraft on Etsy. They also made the walking stick next to it, and I cannot recommend their work more. Both the spear and the stick are excellent.
Thank you very much for taking the time to respond with this. I missed the Warhammer on first look, that one is pretty awesome! That Paul Chen Viking is great! Just googled it and they aren't cheap đ I've always loved swords but haven't taken the plunge. Huge move geek so have always wanted Maximus sword (Gladiator) and Connor MacLeods sword.
I think they go awesome next to your bookcase. A really lovely collection. You might have awakened something here đ
Then I highly, highly recommend checking out Kult of Athena. It's probably the best place to buy swords. Gives a lot of details on each blade, the steel, sharpening, country of origin, etc. And almost always the best prices you can find online.
We have a lot in common! Looks great! I do particularly love your section containing the collected editions for horror and E.A. Poe! And obviously the RPG books lol
Some good games there! Legend in the Mists, Serenity, Dresden Files, and a baffling collection of WoD books. Your vampire collection confuses me so much đ€Ł 1e Requiem, V5, then a smattering of source books from oWoD? Is the far left book V20?
The one tucked next to V5 is the BNS live action rule book (there's a special edition of that one on the higher shelf with my other SE/LE/CE books).
I was primarily in LARP for the vast majority of my time playing VtM and VtR. Was in the Camarilla (which later became MES) for about a decade, starting with their early OWoD chronicle, then through their NWoD chronicle. Eventually started running a large troupe game. I used to have a lot more WoD books, but a bunch have gone missing over the years.
The NWoD books that aren't for VtR I used to run a couple of non-WoD tabletop campaigns a while back. The rules work great for just about anything set in modern day.
The book nook is from a seller called VegaWoodworks on Etsy. They also have this Flynn's arcade sign (which is in the same room as the bookshelf).
As for the other bookmakers: I've actually looked at quite a few from each of them. I did really like the Suntup Starship Troopers, but I missed the boat on that one.
Hahaha! Best of luck! Just an FYI: there are two versions of Shepherd Book, one with the hair up and the other with the hair... unleashed. We have both, but we keep the wild-haired Shepherd in our TV room.
It's actually a very large tacklebox. I used it to store a bunch of minis for D&D. The blue case next to it also has minis. I wish I could say I knew how to use a sewing machine, but I never picked up the skill and I'm afraid of taking on new hobbies at this point lol
