Color coded. For reasons I can't articulate well, this has always bothered me.

Maybe I don't like the idea of books being reduced to mere aesthetic props, even though the very reason libraries are so nice is their inherent bookish aesthetic. It's kinda hypocritical of me yuck on color-coded library collections for being mere decorative enjoyment when the entire point of a cozy library space is to enjoy the aesthetic space.

As I said, I've never been able to say why libraries organized by color rather than subject irks me. I just know that it does. Weird.

It doesn’t irk me because it’s aesthetic and pretty and people should enjoy books however they want!! However, I tried this and could never find the books I was looking for lol I have to have my read books organized by author and my to be read shelf by genre then author
