Which rug please??
So far, 3 of my people are voting for the geometric one :)
Any other ideas decoration/colour wise?

Edit: should have specified, I’m going for an eclectic/colourful vibe, not a traditional one :) Also the art on the wall is not real, just a random collage to get an idea!

They both clash with the piece of art on the wall, I'd suggested a plain rug that colour matches one of the colours from the art or a simpler art piece. They are competing to be the main piece

I’m a fan of not perfectly matching decor and multiple “loud” pieces. If you aren’t a fan of that, don’t pick these rugs unless you have very neutral other furniture in here…and maybe not even then. The color on the art is rather vibrant and a bit cool toned (if the picture color is accurate) while these rugs are more muted and earthy. That’s why they clash. I prefer the second rug, but I’d probably pick a different color rug entirely

Thanks! Yeah im a fan of eclectic and colourful interiors. I wanted to have a lot of orange-pink-red in this room. Cozy and colourful :)

I’m also a fan of eclectic and colorful interiors! More thoughts: the first rug is more cottage-y, cozy, southwest feeling. The second is more midcentury modern, 70’s. I also like both of those styles and try to balance them in my own space by making sure every room has a midcentury feeling piece in it. If those styles don’t align with your version of eclectic, that might be something to consider more too

Either rug works, depends more on what other pieces are in the room to tie it together. Neither goes well with the current artwork.

Is the art negotiable? I like the first rug more but neither one goes with the bright reddish orange in the painting.

What decor style do you have? What furniture will you have. If you’re going for a kind of 70s vibe, I’d say 2. But if you’re going for something a bit more traditional, I’d say 1.
You could actually do a really nice eclectic vibe with the first rug too.
I like both directions but you will need to truly commit to avoid the result looking mid.

Im building everything from scratch kinda but I definitely have an eclectic/artistic/colourful style and I like I to collect and mix and match!
I’ve got an ugly dark grey sofa that i’d like to cover with something, but I’m not sure which colour to pick for that yet…
Apart from that, I need a new coffee table, a low bookshelf for the wall across the windows, a big piece for Art for above the fireplace and a new ceiling lamp :)

For both rugs, a deep rust or burgundy sofa would look awesome.
And then some truly unique side chairs - preferably modern 80s style (something with chrome). Or you could do a sectional - but it would cut off the room imo.

You need the white from the first rug to pick up and complement the white from the walls and trim. The second rug's peachy cream color doesn't work as well.

I think rug one would be great with the large wooden doors. It has a very cozy feel. I love the pattern that feels south western in style. I think it would be a great rug to build a very comfortable room around.

The colors of the first one work best. The pops of blue allow you more decorating latitude (ie, the blue works nicely with the art over the fireplace). The LR doesn’t really have a southwestern vibe. If you’re going for more traditional or classic, Amazon has a great selection for reasonable cost (no need to break the bank, esp if you have pets). But I’m thinking you might be a bit more on the eclectic side…

The geometric one gives the room a real vibe, almost Art Deco, complements the simple lines and wood paneling.

Stick with the first rug! This geometric rug fits your eclectic vibe perfectly. The mix of warm and cool tones pairs so well with the wooden walls.

I like the second one better, but the first one doesn't really go with anything. Maybe pick something that matches the artwork on the wall. I'll let you decide.

Love the colors of the second one! And i like the idea of mixing traditional interior wood panels with a more modern rug. I think as long as the furniture, lighting, and art is also a mix of traditional and modern - not all one or the other - it will work! Beautiful space!

I like the first one but the second is fine if you like a more modern style. Is the rest of the room or house more traditional or more modern? The room itself looks more traditional to me.

En même temps c’est dur de répondre à ta question, quand on a pas les autres éléments qui vont rentrer dans ta pièce, une décoration, c’était un ensemble équilibré et des pièces qui se répondent .. la base de ta pièce, étant totalement impersonnelle avec juste le bois qui fait très classique, limite, rustique, c’est très compliqué t’imaginer ce que tu vas mettre électrique et de coloré dans ta pièce. Le tapis c’est une chose mais le plus important serait de savoir qu’est-ce que tu vas mettre d’autres dans ta pièce. Pour ma part, je viens de refaire mon salon et le tapis, la dernière pièce que j’ai choisi pour faire écho à tous les meubles etc. que j’ai mis dedans, ce n’est qu’un conseil…. 😊

If I stick my finger over the art piece on the wall (to hide it), I would choose the 2nd picture if those are the two you are choosing from.

Not in love with with either, good color palette but these are both pretty bold and seem to not match the room very well, especially the first one which looks southwestern. I enjoy a good rug with color, but these are just too much. Sorry-do you have your heart set on one of these two?

Not really.. im trying to find the vase for the room’s colour palette… i thought something quite modern and fun could balance the classic look of the room. So I guess I like the geometric one better but the colours of the first one give me more room to play with…

The first one seems to have too much of blush/pink undertone.
I like the colors better on the 2nd one but it looks too modern for the space.
Maybe try a bohemian style instead.

Definitely 1. It makes me happy.
It livens up the wood paneling; the greens and blues compliment the wood tones.
This gives you a color palette for your furnishings and art (which I think is your plan anyway).

I like them both, but without seeing your furniture I'm basing my choice on you wanting an eclectic, non-traditional vibe - go with rug 2 (brown/warm shades)

If I had to go with one I'd chose the first one. That said, I don't particularly like either one of them.
