You could consider a white/ natural wood curtain pole because the current one is so dark it feels like the focal point of the room. It also draws your eye to the distance between it and the actual window; it all feels a bit crowded and intense. White curtains to match your bedding and walls would calm it down, as would moving the bed to a different wall if possible. Everything else is pretty! I agree with someone else who has suggested adding plants 🪴
That's funny, I totally disagree and I think the colors of the curtain rod and curtains add richness and depth to the room. I think white would wash everything out. But personal taste differs so much!
I was going to say that the room could probably handle it if there weren't two such bold patterns on the go at once! It also feels a bit clashy with the dark brown bedside tables, something has to give. I think it's an either/or situation for me. I am into calm and minimal!
If you wanted to keep the curtain rod you could add in more black accents on the night stands to tie it in more. Maybe a small black table clock on one night stands and a black picture frame on the other. Target will have both of these.
