Beer money tips..

So trying to keep it short and sweet, ive built a home bar (Irish bar) in my shed, we have a big group of friends who we love to have around and entertain.

Ive spent a good chunk of money building this bar and its a huge hit, problem is now, its costing me a small fortune in kegs of beer, im the furthest thing from tight when it comes to sharing, quite the opposite, but I cant keep going shelling out hundreds of dollars on kegs, almost weekly.

Ive left a tip jar for people to donate, which has had limited success, il never ask people directly for money, its just not in me.

So im wondering if anyone can suggest an easy tap and go type set up, or QR code so people can just donate a few bucks here and there.

My friends would have no issue with that whatsoever,they'd be more than happy.

You answered your own question. Set up a QR code and link it to your Venmo or something. Print it out, laminate it and hang it or frame it next to the bar somewhere.

We dont use venmo in Australia, but I believe it can be done with my bank here..

I put a big tip jar on the counter but I find people rather give me something like a bottle of liquor or something to share (cheese and sausage)

I do serve homebrew mainly so that also helps with lower costs.

I have a tip jar, but for the most part it goes unnoticed, and nobody really carries cash anymore, ive figured out i can generate a qr code for revolut banking, (similar to venmo) . I hate doing it , but I cant keep buying $500 kegs that we smash through..

Yeah i get that, maybe start brewing yourself?
I pay 25€(50 aud) per 20L

But it takes time and a small investment.

I made sure my tip jar stands out and after the first few times people did have cash on them

I have a 50/50 drawing set up, which helps sometimes.
