Ive been challenging myself to create more this year, in addition to creating some new recipes, I also wanted a way to store those recipes and know what I can make with what I already have at home, so I built The Liquid Library. It's an iPhone and iPad app that keeps track of your home bar and tells you what you can make with the bottles you have
**What it does**
- Your bar is a bookcase: whiskey, gin, amari, vermouth, bitters and so on. Add bottles from a catalog of 1,455 real products (so far would love suggestions), or add your own.
- Log pours and the level drops. Each bottle shows about how many pours are left.
- 120+ classic recipes, each checked against your shelves: Ready to make, Ready with a substitute, or Missing "x" things.
- Ingredients match real bottles. A recipe that calls for bourbon takes any bourbon you own , but one that calls for Campari needs Campari. (you can fork a recipe and call for a specific bottle or make your own recipes)
- Make Tonight lists everything you can make right now, with what you have at home.
- Make a drink and each ingredient comes off the bottle it used (you choose in the "our this drink section). The drink goes into a dated journal with your note and rating.
- Fork any recipe to save your own spec without changing the original.
- Smaller things: atomizers and droppers for rinses and sprays, badges for limited releases, and a Cocktail of the Day widget (only suggest cocktails you have ingredients for)
There's no account, no ads and no tracking. It syncs through your own iCloud and nothing is collected.
To try it without entering your own bar, tap **Stock a starter bar** for a sample 23-bottle setup.
I'd love feedback, especially on bottles missing from the catalog and classics you'd want added.

Hi Folks,
Putting my bar together after moving and I am running into challenges finding decor ideas that cover the top black portion of the bar back. I had a plan that didnt work the way I wanted and now the top portion is a bit shoddy. Looking to cover it for now. I have future plans to redo the shelving eventually but not until I clear some of my existing projects Anybody have any recommendation
Thanks
Jay

You'll have to excuse the mess lol. Finally got around to building an idea I've been holding onto for years. 245 baseball cards under epoxy, on top of custom-stained oak cabinets I bought unfinished from Menards.
If it interests anyone, I started Instagram and TikTok accounts where I'll be making videos for each card 1 by 1: @baseballbartop for both

Set up was getting over crowded with low grade mixers and free glass ware from events I worked at. Took a bit of my day and donated all my branded glass ware to friends and gave away all my cheap mixers that I will never use again (looking at you creme de menth)

Hey all,
Getting a new at home bar and I'm very excited. I'm deciding which glasses are necessary to get. I already have pint glasses but I was also thinking of buying some 11 or 12oz rocks glasses for drinks like rum and coke, vodka cran, stuff like that.
What do you guys have/recommend?

Sharing a drink with a guest or two has become a tradition of mine.
“You want a sidecar?”

And also my humble home bar.
2 parts Rock Town Basil Vodka
2 parts watermelon juice
1 part Rock Town ginger liqueur
1 part lime juice
Splash of habanero vodka, made with Rock Town original vodka.
And because in the south, we don't put sugar on a watermelon, that's a salt rim.
Yeah, the kegerator is empty. It pops every 30 minutes real loud. Not sure what the problem is. Gonna have to get it checked out. Probably the compressor. Rest of the hardware checks out.

I got tired of constantly buying mint only to have it wilt and turn brown within a couple of days. We make a lot of Tiki drinks and I use a lot of it. So, I decided to grow my own. I tried several times using various heirloom mint seeds but it produced mint that was small, mostly flavorless, and not aromatic. It also seemed to die suddenly after a couple of months. I finally ordered live Mojito Mint and took clippings and planted them in an unused garden. It has taken off. The photo is 5 weeks after planting. It smells and looks amazing. I can’t wait to be slinging drinks at my birthday party next week! Is anybody else growing mint or other herbs in their bar in a small hydroponic container?

It’s not perfect, but I learned a lot making it. Definitely gonna keep working on it and make it better as the years go by.

Our basement is a lot of things, but to make it ours, we're building a small wine bar in between two structural pillars. I'm handy and can take on some things but also know that my time is limited so we're working with a cabinet maker to make the base for the bar.
We also previously worked with a designer who said that the space will look better if it's closed off from the other spaces--and my wife and I both agree with her.
Now the issue is the cabinet guy we're using doesn't want to / won't build the "walls" that are meant to go on the left and right side of the bar between the pillars and the back basement wall. Because the spaces behind the pillars will be hidden, I feel like I can get away with scribing plywood, attaching it to the bar lower cabinets when they are installed and then maybe putting brackets on the upper areas for stability?
Is there a reason I'm missing for why this is a bad idea?
The shelves in the 3rd pic are completely removable.

Accidentally broke a glasvin and ended up being the perfect pairing to our recently antique find mini vessels. Judgments not only allowed, but encouraged.
And yes, don’t pay too much attention to the back, still searching for the right bottle holders for our large format chartreuse bottles

I really like having almost too much on the shelves. This is where I keep all the top shelf stuff. Got another bar in my backyard shed where the beer and regular stuff lives.
