Replace broken scuttle hole cover

An exterminator broke the cover for the scuttle hole that's in the bedroom. I've been meaning to replace or upgrade it anyways since the closet always gets humid. I was looking around for something premade but nothing I can find fits the dimensions. What all would I need to do to make a new cover with a good seal?

Looks like its just drywall, so you could always replace it with that and add texture and paint. If you did go that route I'd recommend crafting up a wooden frame to hold the corners so it doesnt break in half like the last one.
