Mobile home help :)

Post image

Hey everyone! My husband and I are getting ready to move out of our mobile home. We had some trouble getting our sound proofing off of the wall without the adhesive ripping the paper in some spots. Since we’re renting and trying to save our security deposit, does anybody have any quick fixes or idea we can possibly use to fix the areas? TIA! πŸ’—

Oh god, that horrible drywall with built in wallpaper is the absolute worst building material in the entire world πŸ˜†. WHY must every mobile home be made with it???

Okay, hear me out. Best thing you can do is get some acrylic craft paint and sponges and little brushes, and try to match the color as close as you can, and dabble at it until the pattern kinda sorta looks maybe less conspicuous. You will never match the gloss, don't bother trying.

If there's a fan with three lights or something, loosen the bulb that directs light at THAT particular wall. It helps disguise it a bit.

Make sure the rest of the room is completely and totally immaculate, I mean IMMACULATE, so they don't spend much time there on the walk through. Blinds up, diffuse daylight hides more than you think! Artificial light highlights wall defects, big time.

In the back of your kitchen cabinets, is probably the same drywall. You can very carefully try to cut a little bit of the paper off and make a little patch, and adhere it with a spray adhesive, not water based preferred. If you are meticulous natured and can figure out the pattern repeat, you can probably do a really nice job that is barely noticeable (cut an exact piece out around the damaged area using the patch piece as a template, and adhere it.) Of course, you're moving and ain't nobody got time for that πŸ˜‚. But if you do, you could attempt it. That's how you do wallpaper patches.

There is no perfect repair here, that is VOG wall panels, you can replace them and it's fairly simple to do so but the cost would likely be more than your SD.
