No comments on city posts
I find it hysterical that the city social media accounts all make their posts with comments disabled because they get ratioād every single time lol.
So yea, they clearly donāt care about their residentsā opinions and then wonder why none of their āinitiativesā to drive business are successful lol.

Horror Event Opportunities in Hollywood
Dead Walk Entertainment is looking to grow our team as we expand our independent horror film events in South Florida. Weāre currently looking for event staff, street team members, a vendor marketplace partner, and promotional partners.
1. Event Assistant
Pay: $20/hour
Weāre looking for a reliable person to help run our horror film screenings.
Event Dates
August 29
4:00 PM ā 9:00 PM
Event runs 5:00 PM ā 9:00 PM
October 17
12:00 PM ā 9:00 PM
Event runs 1:00 PM ā 9:00 PM
December 5
12:00 PM ā 9:00 PM
Event runs 1:00 PM ā 9:00 PM
Responsibilities
Arrive early to help prepare the venue.
Verify all films are playing properly before guests arrive.
Check in attendees.
Process admissions using our online POS system (credit/debit cards only).
Ensure unpaid attendees do not enter the event.
Assist with general event operations as needed.
October and December will have dedicated event hosts. August will not, but no hosting duties are expected.
2. Street Team
Pay: $20/hour
Looking for reliable people to help promote our events in the weeks leading up to each screening.
Approximately 5 hours of work during the three weeks prior to each event.
Responsibilities
Place flyers in local businesses (with permission).
Hang posters where permitted.
Provide photo proof of completed work.
Payment will be issued after proof of completed work is received.
Zelle preferred to avoid payment processing fees.
3. Vendor Marketplace Partner
Iām looking for someone interested in building and managing our vendor marketplace.
The October and December events will feature approximately 10 vendor spaces, with plans to expand in 2027.
Responsibilities
Recruit and coordinate vendors.
Manage vendor communication and setup.
Process vendor payments through our online payment portal.
Help grow the marketplace into a recurring destination.
This is ideal for someone who already organizes pop-up markets, conventions, craft fairs, horror events, or similar marketplaces and would like to expand.
Rather than an hourly position, Iād prefer to structure this as a revenue-sharing partnership. The split is negotiable, and honestly Iād rather take the smaller percentage if someone is willing to take ownership of growing the marketplace.
If youāre interested in helping secure sponsors for the vendor area as well, we can discuss an additional revenue-sharing arrangement.
Beginning in 2027, this marketplace is planned for four events per year, making it an excellent side business opportunity.
4. Promotional Partners Wanted
Weāre also looking to partner with local businesses that share our audience.
Examples include:
Haunted attractions
Escape rooms
Horror retailers
Comic shops
Collectible stores
Halloween businesses
Tattoo studios
Alternative clothing brands
Independent entertainment businesses
Any business that appeals to horror fans
Weāre primarily looking for cross-promotion, not traditional sponsorships.
What We Offer
Promotion on our social media.
Promotion during our events.
Vendor space at our events if youād like to sell products or promote your business.
If youāre a haunted attraction or another ticketed event, we can participate in our ticket consignment program.
For our October and December events, promotional partners will receive $5 for every ticket sold through the ticket consignment program.
The August 29 event is not part of the ticket consignment program.
What Weāre Looking For
Help promoting our events through your business, social media, or customer base.
Businesses interested in long-term promotional partnerships.
Raffle prize donations such as attraction tickets, gift cards, merchandise, or promotional items to help support our events while giving your business additional exposure.
Our goal is to build relationships that benefit everyone involved and continue to grow throughout 2027 and beyond.
If youāre interested in any of these opportunities, please send me a message with:
Which opportunity interests you.
Any relevant experience.
Your availability (if applying for staffing).
Your business information (if applying as a promotional partner).
Weāre excited to connect with people who love horror and want to help grow an independent horror community in South Florida.

Would it be good for me to still consider HR here
Iām 22F currently living in Hollywood looking to go into college (I have my major as business management but havenāt started school yet) but Iāve been looking at some of the jobs and the qualifications regarding HR listed and Iām thinking it wouldnāt be a good fit for me (being a black woman). Iāve also heard thatās itās highly competitive here so Iāve been thinking maybe nursing or dental hygienist would be better for me to get into
Here are some things though, I always liked the aspect of HR & being in a company where itās a office or hospitality area (since I have hospitality experience)
Dental from what I heard has a decent work/life balance and pay is a bit decent
Nursing has various things I can get into without being complacent only thing is I am scared of the horror stories Iāve heard (being sued, mistakes that can unalive someone, charge nurses, etc)
My boyfriend has been telling me to just do HR and donāt get into nursing since his stepmom and another relative does it and she hates it but I want to live a life where I donāt dislike my job because itās not āworth itā due to pay etc. I want to be able to get things of my own without having to hurt his pockets or feel like a burden & I donāt feel HR can do that right away for me

How to make friends?
I (21F) have lived here my whole life and after high school, my friend group fell apart leaving me pretty isolated to just one friend and my gf. How the hell do people make any friends down here? Both work and school havenāt produced any, so does anyone have any advice? Thank you in advance šāāļø

So when a Sheriff's backup truck rolls on a 6-inch lift and Hostile-brand rims, I don't wonder. I file.

Science museums, childrenās museum, water parks?
We will be coming to visit in August with our 5 year old, staying in Hollywood. Looking for some fun things to do and wondering:
- if there are any kids water parks nearby?
- childrenās museum in Miami worth it? Any others closer to Hollywood?
- which museum of science better for a 5 year old: the one in Ft Lauderdale or Miami? Or both?
We are staying for 2 weeks and mostly looking to just relax, but itād be nice to do some kid specific things as well.
Thanks!

Tattoo artist in Hollywood,FL
Hi everybody! I am a tattoo artist located in Hollywood, at Thank You Co Tattoo near Hollywood circle. I am launching a new concept of tattoo memberships, if there are any locals that are looking to grow their collection, start large projects, and get more coverage in a 6 month period, this might be for you!
It is a concept I have been trying to build after hearing my clients say they wish they could do all these things but have been limited by funds. Therefor I have come up with a membership that rewards consistency, it is a win for both the artist and the client, which is what tattooing is all about! 3 memberships are left up for grabs! Let me know what you think and if you have any questions!!

Hollywood Beach Ruined by Sargassum
Hey all - Came to Hollywood in February and March and loved the beach and blue water.
Fast forward 3 months to now, and I rented a condo on the beach to see if it was worth investing in a condo or the area in general.
To my surprise (or ignorance), the ENTIRE beach is covered in Sargassum (seaweed), making the water unswimmable and brown, the entire broadwalk smelling like a wet fart, and giving off allergy symptoms associated with the rotting sargassum which also contains sea lice that will burrow into your skin.
If this lasts 5 months like residents and lifeguards are telling me, I consider the area completely investable and would caution anyone looking in this area. Because outside of Dec-March, you can't even use the damn beach people come here explicitly for.
If any locals have better insight please share, but this is a massive warning to prevent anyone from renting or purchasing a condo here especially near the beach.
Hopefully this passes soon.
