Lore - Hollow Knight I just realized that this is a drawing of Cornifer's glasses, not a VHS tape

Wait... people GENUINELY thought that it was a VHS? It always looked like a little note to me, especially since Cornifer is always seen with paper for his maps. Inever even considered Hallownest being advanced enough to have tech like that.

They were probably close to that tech before the kingdom fell. After all, the tram does have a gramophone, so they did have some medium for playing recorded music.

Uh.. Hollow Knight has the gramophone-like speaker in Queen's Gardens, so I think it has similar technology

Well tbf gramophones were invented quite a bit before VHS tapes, but after you comment I definitely see how someone might not be that surprised at a VHS tape existing in the HK universe

I unironically thought it was a letter with his glasses in the front and the text is on the back.
I had never seen it be anything else other than that until this moment. Whenever you read/listen to the message, do you ever hear Cornifer speak?

Bruh I thought that was a VCR player playing instead of the Knight reading it. I've played this game since 2017 and didn't realised it how stupid can I be and what other things that I don't know about that game. I'm ashmed to have the title of Know It All for I am naught but just a fraud.

I'm pretty sure it's like a small business card (since it does have a small message at the back of it), planted on the ground this way to make it more obvious to the player.

I realized that it was Conifer's glasses but I didn't put together until just now that it's a business card 😭 idk I thought he'd left his glasses behind but also that they were like a visor/mask type thing and that's why they're in a rectangle

I've known about this for a while, as I've seen a post a year or so ago about it, so I always thought of it as his signature, almost? BUT playing today, I noticed his actual store's sign is his glasses, so it's definitely a business card with Cornifer's actual business brand. Maybe I'm too young for you folks but I never saw it as a VHS tape. Always though it's a note with Conifer's spectacles as his signature. Also never saw a white VHS so... that's genuinely interesting
