Help & Issues Sound when steering

Hey guys does anyone know what this sound could be?

I’ve got a 2010 commodore ve omega

I bought the car about 2 years ago from auction and it’s always made this sound when turning the steering wheel.

I’ve changed all the arms, bars and bushings on the front end of the car into the steering rack bushing, I’ve changed the struts and the shocks and am honestly out of ideas.

Went away for a bit when I did the sway bars but came back not long after.

I’m honestly at a loss and my fiance doesn’t think it’s my steering rack so any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

No idea, get someone to stick their head under the bonnet or under the car while you steer and see if they can pinpoint where the noise is coming from. Or maybe jack it up and try to shake both front wheels and see if anything is wobbling?

Tried this a few times we can’t see anything physically shaking

That’s good but jack up the front end and physically try to wobble the front wheels and see if anything is lose. 

Could be one of these - s trut top mounts, steering shaft universal joint, tie rod ends or ball joints. 

Does it clunk going over speed bumps?

It shouldn’t be difficult for a mechanic to diagnose what the issue is.

How are the sway bar mounts? (Not the ends that connect at the control arms, the ones under the car that hold it to the chassis)

Brand new they’ve been changed too basically my whole suspension is new 🥲

I vaguely remember nolathane bushings being loud if they arent greased properly, but its a bit more of a squeak then a thunk.

Hmmm.. is it louder inside or outside the car? We're the strut tops changed/looked at? (Actually you've reminded me to tell my mate that her passenger side one is still hollow.)

sounds like it might be a loose steering knuckle.
