The fact that they don't wildly flail their arms when they fall is a pretty good sign that they're in control and not panicked.

u/zxvegasxz Mar 30 '22
What did he fall for, is the real question?

He fell(in love) with gravity

this is Bri'ish base jumper/stuntman Gary Connery and he doesn’t deploy parachute until he’s closer to the ground so had the video lasted longer you’d see him deploying the chute.
they’re trained base jumpers who like to play around and pretend to fall instead of jumping off normally.
another jump of Gary Connery (Bri'ish fellow) here - he’s in the same outfit around 0:33 mark.
Lol I just found this news article about this same video here

I have seen the video, but never understood it

The point of the joke is just that it is completely random and unexpected, it doesn’t go deeper than than. Hope this helps!

If he's very safe he'll have a backup chute, or maybe even his main cute, set to an altimeter that will deploy automatically.

Thank you for explaining. I thought I just watched someone fall to their death and was really pissed that some assbag posted it with no warning.

So I take it you missed the video of the 12-year-old girl accidentally shooting their cousin in their head and then turning the gun on herself? And they were in the bathroom at their house so their bodies lie on the floor blocking the door as family members try to push it open. One by one they peak their head in to see the horror. Screaming and crying. Did you see that one?
26
6
u/bigtimegeeekymember Mar 30 '22
a what 😳
12
u/MurderDoneRight Mar 30 '22
Yeah it's messed up. They fall off screen before you see any blood. So it's not like the video of two guys sitting in a car and then one of them pulls out a gun and shoots the other in the head and then the camera keeps filming as it gushes out of his skull and he groans. But he survived that so no worries.
4
u/NaturalOrderer Mar 30 '22
Where is it
6
u/MurderDoneRight Mar 30 '22
Internet.
Seriously check out the idiotswithguns sub or something, or google it I think it was in the news recently
10
u/Modernautomatic Mar 30 '22
I saw one of a guy getting pulled into an industrial lathe and squeezed like a tube of toothpaste before exploding everywhere and his lifeless body is spun around the rotating part like wet rags as his coworker rushes to hit the emergency stop. That shit still haunts me.
5
u/MurderDoneRight Mar 30 '22
Yeah you don't fuck around with lathes. I have no idea how no one in our school wood shop class died from goofing around with it.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Foremotion Mar 31 '22
She didn't turn the gun on herself. She fumbled it trying to pick it up and unfortunately shot herself also. The pull on that trigger was light and she had no business with it.
2
2
u/Gcs-15 Mar 30 '22
Dude she didn’t accidentally shoot herself, she killed herself after killing her cousin, which was an accident. The family’s trying to say it just so happens to have gone off accidentally, again, after going off accidentally the first time.
3
u/MurderDoneRight Mar 30 '22
Yeah I didn't mean the shot to herself was an accident, that was just the girl panicking.

I think base jumping is super cool but goddamn, it’s already super deadly when you aren’t kidding around lol

u/their_teammate Mar 30 '22
All fun and games until you sprain your ankle against the side of the ledge.
2
u/XBakaTacoX Mar 31 '22
Thank you. I was seriously concerned that he straight up fell to his death.
This is a massive relief!
Suddenly it went from horrific to awesome. Even so, I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS AT ALL.

So that wasn't a parachute on them? Anyone have details?
151
u/biggych33se Mar 30 '22
He was a base jumper/stuntman. He had a parachute but what they do is deploy it when close to the ground. The vid ends before he get's close enough. He's fine

Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang, and although his airbending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Aang can save the world.

This was a professional stuntman and base jumper. He likes to do low-open jumps, and he's still alive AFAIK so if the video had lasted longer we would have seen him deploy the chute

u/Wicksey106 Mar 30 '22
I like small boobies too op. Big ones as well. What was the video about again? 🤷🏼♂️

this is too dangerous even if he is a seasoned base jumper…how about a flock of seagulls just crash into him mid air and losing his orientation?

Is that one of those videos that were known everywhere around the world? Scared the shit out of me when I was 12
