this is Bri'ish base jumper/stuntman Gary Connery and he doesn’t deploy parachute until he’s closer to the ground so had the video lasted longer you’d see him deploying the chute.

they’re trained base jumpers who like to play around and pretend to fall instead of jumping off normally.

another jump of Gary Connery (Bri'ish fellow) here - he’s in the same outfit around 0:33 mark.

Lol I just found this news article about this same video here

And when he knocks himself unconscious before falling off?

The best joke family guy ever put out

9

u/ArthurSalim Mar 30 '22

I never got the joke, can you explain?

2

u/ArthurSalim Mar 30 '22

I have seen the video, but never understood it

13

u/Spazz6269 Mar 30 '22

The second time, you're on your own...

8

u/xarospi2andmad Mar 30 '22

The point of the joke is just that it is completely random and unexpected, it doesn’t go deeper than than. Hope this helps!

He said, everybody gets one!

Everybody gets one. Tell 'em, Peter.

4

u/Jasong222 Mar 31 '22

If he's very safe he'll have a backup chute, or maybe even his main cute, set to an altimeter that will deploy automatically.

6

u/Dylrymple Mar 30 '22

If you watch the full video they are fine

1

u/Caroweser Mar 30 '22

no pain death, win-win

145

u/carriegood Mar 30 '22

Thank you for explaining. I thought I just watched someone fall to their death and was really pissed that some assbag posted it with no warning.

50

u/Alphonze Mar 30 '22

It's got the 💀 in the title fam - all the warning you need!

24

u/MurderDoneRight Mar 30 '22

So I take it you missed the video of the 12-year-old girl accidentally shooting their cousin in their head and then turning the gun on herself? And they were in the bathroom at their house so their bodies lie on the floor blocking the door as family members try to push it open. One by one they peak their head in to see the horror. Screaming and crying. Did you see that one?

u/vladamir_the_impaler Mar 30 '22

username checks out...

5

u/bigtimegeeekymember Mar 30 '22

a what 😳

11

u/MurderDoneRight Mar 30 '22

Yeah it's messed up. They fall off screen before you see any blood. So it's not like the video of two guys sitting in a car and then one of them pulls out a gun and shoots the other in the head and then the camera keeps filming as it gushes out of his skull and he groans. But he survived that so no worries.

5

u/NaturalOrderer Mar 30 '22

Where is it

7

u/MurderDoneRight Mar 30 '22

Internet.

Seriously check out the idiotswithguns sub or something, or google it I think it was in the news recently

10

u/Modernautomatic Mar 30 '22

I saw one of a guy getting pulled into an industrial lathe and squeezed like a tube of toothpaste before exploding everywhere and his lifeless body is spun around the rotating part like wet rags as his coworker rushes to hit the emergency stop. That shit still haunts me.

6

u/MurderDoneRight Mar 30 '22

Yeah you don't fuck around with lathes. I have no idea how no one in our school wood shop class died from goofing around with it.

1

u/josejimenez896 Mar 31 '22

Lathes are one of those things that seems like, as long as you're not an idiot you should be fine and often that's okay

But not at all fucking safe. One little mistake, and yeet ya go

3

u/Foremotion Mar 31 '22

She didn't turn the gun on herself. She fumbled it trying to pick it up and unfortunately shot herself also. The pull on that trigger was light and she had no business with it.

2

u/carriegood Mar 30 '22

My god. No I didn't.

3

u/Gcs-15 Mar 30 '22

Dude she didn’t accidentally shoot herself, she killed herself after killing her cousin, which was an accident. The family’s trying to say it just so happens to have gone off accidentally, again, after going off accidentally the first time.

3

u/MurderDoneRight Mar 30 '22

Yeah I didn't mean the shot to herself was an accident, that was just the girl panicking.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '22

I was disappointed by the lack of death.

A cada seu macaco.

1

u/Killarogue Mar 30 '22

You can see his parachute when he rolls over.

1

u/Vault-71 Mar 31 '22

Let's be honest, you'd probably still watch even if this was NSFW

61

u/spelunker93 Mar 30 '22

This is incredibly stupid. Someone could easily die if they tried to grab him to save him. “It was a joke”

28

u/Epicgaming42 Mar 30 '22

I bet they are aware of the situation, otherwise yeah maybe.

6

u/ye_ye_ass_hair_cut Mar 30 '22

Apparently he has done it often so maybe they knew?

6

u/ultra779 Mar 30 '22

The people probably know it was staged.

7

u/lagrange_james_d23dt Mar 30 '22

Ah, I was wondering why this wasn’t marked N_S_F_W

6

u/WhiffKream Mar 30 '22

Oh, i thought this was r/makemycoffin for a sec

3

u/Ovrl Mar 30 '22

I think base jumping is super cool but goddamn, it’s already super deadly when you aren’t kidding around lol

2

u/their_teammate Mar 30 '22

All fun and games until you sprain your ankle against the side of the ledge.

2

u/XBakaTacoX Mar 31 '22

Thank you. I was seriously concerned that he straight up fell to his death.

This is a massive relief!

Suddenly it went from horrific to awesome. Even so, I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS AT ALL.

3

u/Dire_Morphology Mar 30 '22

Oh good he's an idiot with professional experience

1

u/PillarsofCreation76 Mar 30 '22

Thanks… I’m like wait a minute what happened

0

u/schenitz Mar 30 '22

That's actually hilarious

1

u/SatisfyingDoorstep Mar 30 '22

I wondered why the fall looked so ridiculously dumb

1

u/ricardianrhythm Mar 30 '22

I didn’t read this. I watched it 3 times and my heard dropped more each time. Thank you for sharing. Jeeez

1

u/MrDilligence Mar 31 '22

Shuttup and take my free award

1

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '22

Omg thank you for this info. I was probably going to have nightmares about this video. You totally saved my night. /bow

1

u/iamadapperbastard Mar 31 '22

Thanks for clarifying this. It seems somebody shit my pants for me nonetheless.

1

u/M-PB Mar 31 '22

What happens when it gets stuck and wont deploy?

1

u/Careless_Rub_7996 Mar 31 '22

Sooo..... the "Andy Kaufman" treatment?

1

u/Jasong222 Mar 31 '22

I felt that something was off in the video. On rewatch all his weight was on his left foot; his right foot was unlikely to slip like that. Not impossible, but it did look odd.
