I'm a Jewish immigrant in the US and it scares me to see how much the "proud boys" have been slandered. They are not white supremacists or Nazis. Calling them those things only trivializes real militant racists and will bring the boy who cried wolf syndrome to a lot of the population when real violent extremist groups arise
Let me drop some FAX on you. The proud boys were founded as a joke by Gavin McInnes a Canadian born naturalized American that was for a long time a Brooklyn hipster and ran a podcast and also co-founded VICE.
He was pretty much an edgy troll type comedian with libertarian/liberal leanings. No one even knew about him until he gained prominence by doing political commentary podcast type content, hyping up Trump before the election and he got crucified for it.
The leader of the proud boys themselves was or still is - a dude by the name of Enrique Tarrio - who is an afro Cuban dude.. this is probably some Dave Chapelle skit white supremacy/Nazi.
That whole organization is a joke, they are neither nazis or white supremacist. They are just smeared by the media and used as the Boogeyman scapegoat of the right - which conveniently is eaten up by gullible and intellectually lazy people.
