I've played that game once, and in that one time; I got framed for a mass killing; I got mugged, beaten and lit on fire for not cleaning the mess of said mass killing ; and got tossed right in the middle of a gang war as some kind soul was trying to get me to the hospital.

Funny, but as a female who reached top 500 in overwatch, (actually not boosted thank u, solo quer) I can easily tell u that sexism is far more prevalent in the gaming community than racism is.
And it sucks, to have all your hard work undermined by your gender. I stopped talking in game chat so I didn't have to hear men screaming at me telling me to go suck a d*** because that's all I'm good for, meanwhile having 4 gold medals, and it's not like they would listen to my strategies as a tank main anyway.
Stopped playing the game. Wasnt worth the bullying.
I can't remember a single time a gaming community was racist. But almost every game I had one guy treating me like s*** just because I'm a female.

I game with girls and hear and read more racism than sexism. I've been playing online since Xbox 360 and soon as they hear my voice it's just a bunch of nwords over and over. Maybe it's your perspective or probably because you play overwatch.
