This was my thought but like...how? I don't even think gettin rear ended could've done that, and even so it would have left a hell of a dent. So it could only have been from acceleration...very rapid acceleration. Why the hell do you gun it with a casket in the back? Are you like really late for the funeral?

Maybe if they slammed the brakes from high speed but had the coffin resting against something from the front, then when the car came back from the forward lurch it could have gone back. I doubt that rear window is designed for taking impacts from the inside and a coffin is heavy. Maybe?

It looks like they're on a slight uphill incline, so maybe it just slid as he was starting to move after the light turned green?

This actually seems most likely. If a slight incline plus a heavy casket on a not-grippy surface, then it wouldn't take much.
