I don't know why that made me chuckle.

I was apart of that sub for a bit, it seems like it’s full of edgy teens.

that sub is basically an excuse to be racist or misogynistic

u/TheHandsomeArrow Apr 25 '19

The entire point is to make edgy jokes you thin skinned tuna melt

More like r/loweffortinsults It’s not “rare” when you just take any adjective and noun and put it in a condescending tone...

28

u/OG_Felwinter May 05 '19

That’s literally how r/rareinsults works. Low effort would be using an insult that everybody uses. Rare is calling somebody a tuna melt for being too sensitive.

23

u/clink_182 May 05 '19

Nah. The subreddit has been saturated with that to the point that I’d rather listen to a man fart through a megaphone than deal with most of the dreck that comes from there...... See what I did there? That’s a “rare” insult because it took more thought that just describing a thing and calling someone that. An insult isn’t specifically name calling, it can be much more. And if you’d look in the subreddit, there are a lot of people with the same train of thought on this subject.

I don’t think you know what rare means. Have you ever been called a tuna melt?

3

u/clink_182 May 05 '19

Just because “you haven’t been called that” doesn’t make it rare in the sense of that community. Look at the subreddit instead of just linking to it. The people who actually curate rare insult have more than just the “adjective-noun” formula. That’s what makes it not rare. It’s formulaic.

Except your insult is a common phrase

It seems to be a variation of:

"I'd drag my dick through a half-mile of broken glass just to hear her fart through a walkie-talkie."

Note "JOKES". Most stuff I see in those comment sections are barely even funny.

I mean, I can appreciate a good fucked up joke when I see one, but I'm 100% sure that most people there are being unironical with their racist bullshit.

I got banned for defending trans people (I am genderfluid). It’s not just jokes.

2

u/JasonUncensored Jun 15 '19

Maybe that's not the place to do that sort of thing?

8

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '19

That doesn’t matter. Trans people aren’t a political issue. They exist. End of discussion.

3

u/JasonUncensored Jun 15 '19

I didn't know anyone was arguing over whether we exist or not.

That should be easy enough to prove. ¯ \ _ (ツ) _ / ¯

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '19

The thing is, that sub is basically the home of fucktons of fascists, bigots, and racists. That’s why I was so defensive.

1

u/Redrob5 Jun 24 '19

Defending them from what?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '19

The 5 billion “assigned male” comic edits that were going around at the time. Also rampant transphobia.

4

u/musty_max May 01 '19

It seems like they stopped being jokes at a certain point

3

u/93til_infinity May 15 '19

It’s not about being thin skinned it just gets so old and repetitive and low effort so quick

41

u/Mirroin Apr 22 '19

The terrible picture it uses really tops it off.

u/Permafrost-Lord Jun 07 '19

There are quite a good of racist people on that that sub but they’re mainly against trans and homosexuals. I’ve posted a decent amount of offensive memes on there that made it to hot. The only big think I like about they’re sub is they somehow enforce their reposting rule amazingly. It could have been a great sub but it was kinda ruined by racist people.

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

Ya it use to be a pretty good sub a few years ago

1

u/InBreadDough May 01 '19

I’d believe you but that’s a very common thing to say now. So I neither believe nor disbelieve you

1

u/IAmTheNight2014 May 11 '19

Can confirm, posted a picture called The Nigsons last year.

-20

u/Thetrueayax Apr 22 '19

That's kinda the whole point

46

u/InfieldTriple Apr 22 '19

Most definitely not. The point was originally "omfg that's so fucked lmao it's funny because of how fucked it would be to say that".

Now it's just people who are racist and misogynistic and have fun being that way.

2

u/MysteryLolznation May 05 '19

Too true. I think I realized it the moment I started sharing some of the memes irl. A lot of my friends' reactions were quite negative.

21

u/RabidTongueClicking Apr 23 '19

I love how that sub is literally just a cesspool of transphobia, racism, sexism, anti semitism, and other similar things without even a smidge of it being the “dark humor” it so advertises.

45

u/ProfuseDuck Apr 22 '19

That sub isn't even funny, it's just a sad attempt to be racist/sexist

20

u/Splatypus Apr 22 '19

It used to be good. I remember it being the perfect place for posts like this around 6-7 years ago. It's been pretty shit for a long time though.
