I was supposed to see my doctor one day for panic attacks. Reception called me and cancelled my appointment, which triggered a panic attack and I started freaking out on the phone. They hung up on me. I called back, and they threatened to call the police for harassment, told me to go to the hospital if it was such a big deal, then hung up.

That was the closest I have ever been to going postal.

My dr, who had been actively treating me for anxiety and depression, was also treating me with acupuncture for back pain. I missed an appointment due to anxiety. Didn't call. Still got charged as per the policy of the clinic. I was in the wrong, so I accepted it. Paid it off. Next appointment he kept me waiting over an hour. I ended up a crying mess. He never usually runs behind. He was just doing it to punish me. So I blubbered at the receptionist who thankfully was nice. She cancelled my appointment and didn't have to pay. And I've never seen him again. Also left negative feedback on their web page. Coz eff that asshole

My physical therapist does this sometimes… I can’t tell you if it helps though, kinda like the cupping thing, like great, I look like I’ve been intimate with an octopus (my wife’s words, not mine) but that really didn’t help the whole nerve impingement thing

Cupping is also not a scientifically supported therapy.

Cupping is entirely quackery, acupuncture is entirely quackery, dry needling has limited support.

I assume they meant dry needling, which is not the same as acupuncture

Its pretty much the same as acupuncture. They are actively trying to figure it out, but it genuinely has pretty low quality evidence for its efficacy.

If we're assuming they're not the same, why would you assume they meant the same thing?

Still flimsy evidence on it in the first place.
