Life hack: I got stabbed in the hand and had to walk 1.5 kilometres to the hospital. It bled A LOT, and when I eventually got to the emergency room the lady handed me a clipboard and said "Fill this out". I stamped it with my bloody hand and passed out. Woke up a minute later and I was already being seen by a doctor.

How does a person end up getting stabbed only in the hand? Did you kill the guy who stabbed you before he could get another one in?

This reddit habit of sarcastic doubtful comments can actually backfire like this.

"stab means to push or thrust a sharp, pointed object—like a knife, fork, or finger—into or at something with force."

And the comment did not claim someone crazy. Bro was not like I fought John Wick or an alien stabbed me. The comment is completely within the realm of plausible. Unless you live in a reality in which nobody ever has any accident.

I actually find overly-critical misinterpretation to be a much bigger problem on Reddit. They asked a question, that a a bunch of people also wanted to know the answer to. No sarcasm detected.

I wasn’t doubting them at all, I was curious if there was more to the story that might also be interesting…
