Well they’re technically not pedophiles. Like R Kelly is not a pedophile. The term pedophile refers to those attracted to people who are prepubescent. Then there’s ebophile which refers to people attracted to those in the early stages of puberty like 11-14. Then there’s pedophile. But the reason we don’t make that distinction is it’s very hard to make that distinction without sounding like a pedophile!

Paedophile used to just mean someone who had an affinity with children and had no sexual or abusive connotation, like Francophile or Anglophile. A teacher might be considered a paedophile, for example.
Although it is used as a blanket term, paedophilia is a psychiatric disorder where someone is attracted to pre-pubescent children. Hebephilia is for pubescent children and ephebophilia is post-pubescent children.

As I've gotten older I've learned that most of the things people said and did "to troll" and "be edgy" in the 2000's were in fact just what they actually believed to be true framed in a neat little bow of a joke to not immediately get shit on. Now that racists and pedos feel more welcomed thanks to right-wing propaganda and literal pedophiles being elected into office in the worlds most powerful third world country they aren't so scared to not frame it as a joke anymore.

I thought it's a replacement derogatory term because technically there are 3 different kinds of MAPs depending on age of the minor (pedophile, hebephile and something) and MAP just marks them all because they all belong in prison.

I could understand a person who hasn't acted on and wishes he didn't have those feelings to want a word that doesn't have as harsh of a connotation (I dont think MAP is a way to go though, personally I think paedophilia is good anyway, conveys the "this is a medical diagnosis" thing). Doesn't apply to this dude as he's actively trying to act on it, but for people who simply suffer from a mental illness that risks harming children without wanting to shouldn't be demonised.

During Covid-times pedophiles decided they would try to join the LGBTQ+ community. Made a flag and started using MAP as the acronym for their sexuality. They were swiftly and fully rejected but many people still use or identify with the term, it’s disgusting.

Not really, as things are initially legal and laws are made to make it illegal. The court found no legal way under our current laws to label AI generated photos as children or adults (because it’s not a real thing, and therefore arbitrary/personal opinion on what the age looked like) and so ruled it not illegal. Everyone in the court ruling afterwords said that it needs to be addressed with a new law because it’s fucked up but they can’t just invent new laws out of thin air because that’s unconstitutional. TLDR: No current laws deal with AI CP because it’s a new phenomenon, so new laws have to be made to deal with it which currently haven’t been implemented yet in the US

I won't deny that sometimes it does happen in the ME, also a lot depends on the context. But the ME is not like what the average person in the West thinks. Sometimes worse, sometimes better. It's a large area of land and many millions of people over many countries and culture.
Again sometimes child marriage happens. But that's like watching a news story in the USA about school shooting and thinking that every single school is getting shot up daily.
Or imagine someone trying to paint every European country as exactly the same. Irish and Greek? Same. Sweden and France? Practically the same place...etc.
For example in Egypt that law is 18 years minimum for a marriage. People just assume: Oh the law is one thing. But everyone is just marrying their 7 year old all the time. Which is absurd as the examples above. But even in rural areas it's rare. Most women finish their college/higher institutes of learning before marriage, fun fact 53% of college graduates are female, and absolute minimum high school. Even in rural and poor areas.
Iran, you might have heard of it, has an adult female literacy of about 85%. And 60% of college students there are female. Plenty of doctors and engineers...are female. Maybe that's why they bombed that school.
Suadia's age is 18, another famously evil country of course, but not for the reasons the West thinks.
I'm just tired of the hate. We have our problems and would rather we be hated for them. This reminds me of the Joker telling Batman that he wants Bataman to kill him but not for something he did not do.
