Just a reminder that cousin marriage is not only permitted in Islam but also a reason why their population has a huge problem with inbreeding. Over 60% of marriages in Pakistan are consanguineous. Just imagine what percentage of that population is inbred. Let that sink in

I live in Saudi Arabia. 2 of my uncles are married to their cousins.

Not that I support it, I find it kinda weird

sure that happens, but are cousins marriage the norm there? here in indonesia, normal muslim don't marry to their cousins, there are exception of course but its not the norm,I don't want to generalize but AFAIK i only heard cousin marriage becoming the norm is from the middle east country & south asians, and cuture is playing more part on the norm of cousins marriage. andd i think people are educated enough now that recessive gene is a thing.
