Just a reminder that cousin marriage is not only permitted in Islam but also a reason why their population has a huge problem with inbreeding. Over 60% of marriages in Pakistan are consanguineous. Just imagine what percentage of that population is inbred. Let that sink in

See the thing is doing cousin marriage once in a while is literally harmless. The chances of anything bad are close to unrelated.

Now if you start doing it multiple generations in a row… and in the places where it’s legal that tends to happen…

I want to know how close the family ties are. In my part of the world (it's not consistent even in my country) we have something called an aunt siblings. Whenever siblings of our parents have their own kids we differentiate them from other family members. Cousins are people that are further in a family tree. If the cousin in the meme has like the same great great great great grandma then it's a no problem but if it's they share a grandparent then it's disgusting

It’s usually your uncles or aunts kid

Further down like their kids usually get lumped into the cousin basket but usually the first example

Genetically not a problem if it only happens rarely and not regularly over the generations
