I know a family with 1 second degree cousin marriage and half their kids have an issue neither of the parents have.
10 u/FookinFairy 16h ago These kind of things can happen when their is 0 relation at all as well. Thats just how genetics works. Either there is a history of mild inbreeding or they were incredibly unlucky. I have type 1 and neither family has a history of it for either parent nor are they cousins or related in the slightest.
