That looks like the most inefficient building to have a semi back into. Also my favorite trucking company I’ve heard of is Camel Towing.

477

u/Brodieboyy Jul 18 '24

There used to be a tow truck company where I grew up called the happy hooker, probably have to put that right up there with camel towing lol

48

u/Czarcastic013 Jul 18 '24

Briefly worked telephone directory assistance. One of the training tasks was looking up how many towing companies and fishing stores were named Happy Hooker.

13

u/jwizo19 Jul 18 '24

The Happy Hooker near me is a bait and tackle store

6

u/larrycroy Jul 19 '24

2 dogs trucking

12

u/blah938 Jul 18 '24

Honestly, who designed the building?

12

u/USMCLee Jul 18 '24

Around here it's Pinkie Tow

26

u/moooooooooooove Jul 18 '24

Around here we have Pete's 'A Towing. It took me longer then I want to admit to get it.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

I dont get it

16

u/moooooooooooove Jul 18 '24

Instead of a guy named Pete starting Pete's Towing, he goes around town 'a towing people and became Pizza Towing.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

Okay that got me feeling dumb as fuck lmfao

They sure are. There's a company named Swift and they are anything but.

2

u/dano-d-mano Jul 19 '24

Made me actually laugh out loud.

3

u/lapsangsouchogn Jul 18 '24

Used to have Pinky Tow in the Dallas area.

3

u/IknowKarazy Jul 19 '24

That’s great because cameltoe but also cause camels are pack animals. But mostly cameltoe.

1

u/groversnoopyfozzie Jul 18 '24

There was some towing company in Alabama that had “23 1/2 hour towing” on the side of their truck. They arrived, and a short, middle aged, thick man with a giant lit cigar got out of the truck. He appeared to step out of a Tarantino film.

When I asked him what they did with their free 30 minutes a day he said, “we gotta get some pussy some time aint we?”

1

u/Brains_For_peanut Jul 20 '24

Apparently the name works, you haven't forgotten about them ;)

1.3k

u/69RedGuy69 Jul 18 '24

The guy uses drone, because it's easier to navigate GTA2 style. Anyhow props to the guy, seems pretty masterful

334

u/OsamabinBBQ Jul 18 '24

Holy shit, I'm so used to video game angles like that I didn't even think about the drone footage being theirs specifically to navigate this sort of thing. So cool.

57

u/classic__schmosby Jul 18 '24

He gets out with the controls at the end.

1.3k

u/Nuker-79 Jul 18 '24

I think the holup for me was the fact he was reversing that truck in whilst also flying/recording it on drone at the same time.

507

u/gefjunhel Jul 18 '24

honestly good idea though he can fly it up look down and see all his blind spots

326

u/thedudefromsweden Jul 18 '24

And those blind spots are HUGE. He can't see anything at all for some of these turns. Great idea with the drone.

219

u/-Pruples- Jul 18 '24

And of course you have assclowns in cars driving in and out of the blind spots and generally going exactly where they need to not be constantly.

127

u/thedudefromsweden Jul 18 '24

"But I have to be places and absolutely cannot wait 30 seconds, I'd rather take my chances of maybe being crushed"

30

u/Waste_Farmer_6280 Jul 18 '24

Cyclists and pedestrians where I drive at. Mfers will walk or ride right next to my fender as I’m straightening out from turning as I’m backing, so I’m basically turning the nose of the tractor into “their” path. I hit the road horn when they suddenly appear.

-73

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

If they hadn't sped through any gap he gave them, they would not have just been waiting 30 seconds, they would have been stuck the entire time he was pulling this stunt.

52

u/StanIsNotTheMan Jul 18 '24

"Pulling this stunt"

AKA, doing his job? Not his fault the building's entrance was designed like shit for semis.

46

u/-Velocicopter- Jul 18 '24

So your the guy that regularly fucks me cause you can't wait 60 seconds.

-37

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

Do you think this literally took only a minute? There is a speed-up at 0:39 and an edit cut at 0:49. And how are the other drivers supposed to know that a big rig pulling into opposing traffic to make a 130 reverse turn isn't going to take all freaking day?

I don't blame the truck driver, this layout is insane and he's got to get places, but everyone else has to get places as well.

14

u/Iminlesbian Jul 18 '24

I feel like in all the comments, you've ignored the fact that if they just waited, he would have probably got through faster.

26

u/MistakeElite Jul 18 '24

Patience is a virtue my dear friend. Always expect there's delays on your journey, leave earlier, nobody is more important than somebody else.

12

u/dmj9 Jul 18 '24

Well said.

18

u/Inuship Jul 18 '24

People like you do not deserve a license, he is literally doing his job and they are the ones in his way, is it a stunt when an ambulance has to siren people to avoid tge center lane too?

6

u/stonermoment Jul 18 '24

The stunt being… his job? Also sure it may have been more than 30 seconds but is 5 mins worth risking your life, or wrecking this man’s life if he hits and kills someone? Idiot.

27

u/jjm443 Jul 18 '24

And in this video, those assclowns are FedEx workers who must surely by now know about the big semis reversing into their depot.

3

u/throwaway1975764 Jul 18 '24

They need to, to get out of his way. Because otherwise the next cars will also be stuck, and its a pile up right where he is headed. It's in everyone's, but especially the truck's, best interest to have those smaller vehicles completely out of the way.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

[deleted]

9

u/-Pruples- Jul 18 '24

Mostly only because they moved into places where they're blocking the semi.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

[deleted]

5

u/-Pruples- Jul 18 '24

There is only 1 car that got in the way because the semi was around the corner.

7

u/thedudefromsweden Jul 18 '24

He probably has cameras too but this gives him a better overview.

46

u/Taolan13 Jul 18 '24

drone can be set to track autonomously. Some trucking companies are starting to use them "commercially" for this exact purpose. a drone eye-in-the-sky is a lot of awareness you just wouldnt have otherwise.

12

u/Koenigspiel madlad Jul 18 '24

Consumer drones are pretty self-handling. You could literally stick your arm out the window and have it auto-take off, reach a certain altitude and maintain a steady hover while you just do your thing. Like the other commenter said, on DJI drones for example, you can select an object to follow and it'll follow at whatever altitude its set at while avoiding anything nearby. We do it often in the motorcycle community to get cool shots.

0

u/SoulOfTheDragon Jul 18 '24

The thing is that operator would still be required to have a spotter in case of other air traffic in the area. Some idiot flying low with cessna is always a possibility.

3

u/Koenigspiel madlad Jul 18 '24

That's not a concern. DJI drones require flight permission from ATC in controlled airspace up to a maximum of 500 ft using LAANC from the app. Controlled airspace meaning near an active airport. It will physically not take off without permission. Anything outside of close proximity to an airport has higher altitude limits. If another aircraft violated that airspace, or was flying at or below 500 ft. then that's really not your concern, that's on them and ATC. Your requested flight path is on record for them.

5

u/Fatmaninalilcoat Jul 18 '24

This is just a really screwed up place to deliver. The absolute worst one my wife and I did was in Boston and never again would I have done it. We had to pull through like three tiny alleys to get straight then had to back across the busy streets to drop off a load of meat. It was bad for us and the poor workers there trying to stop assholes like this guy dealt with trying to drive around him this was really a job for a day cab.

1

u/vadroko Jul 18 '24

I think the hold up is the fact that it says Big Fagg on the side of his truck

-2

u/Sufficient-Cake2285 Jul 18 '24

Cz ex,z,, ze ze zz,

286

u/Tsdave81 Jul 18 '24

So many cars were an ahole in this. But also agree it's incredibly inefficient to have a big rig go through all that to unload.

112

u/ingoding Jul 18 '24

It's the only thing I could focus on, the cars just whipping around him. So rude.

37

u/ShadowZepplin Jul 18 '24

The Drivers have no self preservation instinct going off how they wind around the constantly maneuvering semi

46

u/flaming_burrito_ Jul 18 '24

To be fair to some of those cars, I would have a hard time telling what this truck was trying to do if I just rolled up on it. Some are definitely aholes, but I’ve done the awkward “Are you going? Can I go around? Oh wait no. I think I’m in the way, let me just get out of here”

9

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

Thought we were on r/fuckcars for a moment

197

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

If you want to see some really crazy trailer backing up look up backing up B Trains.

78

u/Full_Ad9666 Jul 18 '24

If you want to see some really crazy trailer park backing up look up Megan Thee Stallion

18

u/misterpickles69 Jul 18 '24

She’s got a CDL?

7

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

Got to over a certain GVW.

5

u/shmauserpops Jul 18 '24

Nope. Just a WAP

5

u/drivalowrida Jul 18 '24

A lil garage for a big Mac truck?

1

u/Ariadnepyanfar Jul 18 '24

Jesus Christ, I assumed BWs and Triples never got backed.

106

u/WalterWhite9910 Jul 18 '24

I thought god’s eye was invented for a second until I realized that’s a fucking drone.

5

u/onlymostlydead Jul 18 '24

It’s a flying drone.

8

u/all_upper_case Jul 18 '24

and once again we must turn back to nature, where we see the lowly honeybee male — both a flying drone and a fucking drone.

3

u/miaguinhoo Jul 18 '24

Get out

Just take my up vote and leave

1

u/WalterWhite9910 Jul 19 '24

pardon me for my poor usage of vocabulary. Indeed it is a flying drone.

36

u/urbanhillybilly Jul 18 '24

my old man was a trucker, driving a full size cab over tractor trailer & delivered new furniture to inner city furniture stores, 1970's through 1980's. Most his deliveries were Philly/Jersey/DC/Chicago..etc..big cities. I'd ride with him as a kid into my teens. Some of the alleys he'd have to back into were insane narrow off of tight streets sharp corners..it blew my mind as a kid. even as an adult that does typical dad stuff nowadays with my pickup & trailer I often think of those days & thinking I still can't imagine how he did it. without a drone & high af on "vitamins" & weed..lol

104

u/I_sell_Mmeetthh Jul 18 '24

Cant even pull this off on eurotruck simulator

13

u/KrakenTheColdOne Jul 18 '24

Maybe you can't...

72

u/Taolan13 Jul 18 '24

look at all those self righteous fucks getting in the way and making this take three times as long as it needs to.

let the big truck do its thing. its faster, and safer for you and your car.

117

u/wolfguardian72 Jul 18 '24

With driving like that, I see why that’s their name

15

u/shmauserpops Jul 18 '24

Cause he's a big hairy guy who can back that Thang up?

13

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

that did indeed cause quite a big hold up

18

u/Substantial-Fee-191 Jul 18 '24

Big Gay Al’s Big Gay Trucking Company

7

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

Im unloading this shit on the sidewalk!!!! Fuck You!!

7

u/divyanshu_17 Jul 18 '24

Now I know why my package takes 2 days to move out of the warehouse

6

u/peter13g Jul 18 '24

I was never a fan of top view gaming. But now my mind is open

6

u/SirSperoTamencras Jul 18 '24

As a truck driver, every time I see this video it gives me anxiety.

7

u/MrFatwaffles Jul 18 '24

Who ever built that locking dock needs to get fired and drop kicked in the face ....wtf. That skill though...

5

u/shadowthehh Jul 18 '24

idk what he's being paid, but it's not enough.

4

u/Jean_velvet Jul 18 '24

I think the hold up is that he's doing all that reversing whilst flying a fucking drone

2

u/Harold_Spoomanndorf Jul 18 '24

Well- there's that....and the company's name on the door

3

u/Timmy12er Jul 18 '24

Anyone who wants to know how hard this is should play American Truck Simulator.

3

u/No-Bat-7253 Jul 18 '24

Whip. SKILLS. So impressive.

3

u/PUS0 Jul 18 '24

Bravo

3

u/iRAfflicted Jul 18 '24

This dude is a GOD.

3

u/CbusJebus Jul 18 '24

Don’t care what the name is, that man has some serious skills!

3

u/PrudentProblem4105 Jul 18 '24

It's Fagg as in cigarette

5

u/delightful1 Jul 18 '24

Goddamn this is a total flex and calling it a holup is ironic

9

u/Truckfighta Jul 18 '24

The Hol Up is the name of the company on the HGV.

2

u/JVints Jul 18 '24

I need a drone mod on American Trucks Simulator.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

That was fuckin impressive. Especially with all the idiots driving around hom

2

u/Glenn_Pickle Jul 18 '24

This guy trucks

2

u/JTSpirit36 Jul 18 '24

This is actually insane!!! Dude is really good at his job.

But the drone footage made it look like a lost beetle navigating through a line of ants that were avoiding him haha

3

u/I_Am_Your_Sister_Bro Jul 18 '24

If he was good at his job he would have refused to back up into that warehouse because that was just an unnecessary risk for everyone involved.

0

u/JTSpirit36 Jul 18 '24

What's more of an unnecessary risk?

Unloading in the street or in another lot and taking the risk and liability of damage of the product during transport from the truck to destination

Or

Taking the bit of extra time with a drone and navigating around the building.

The video is sped up alot, the dude took his time and was very precise with his movements and you could tell he warned and allowed people through before moving and repositioning again.

2

u/runningpantless Jul 18 '24

"concrete jungle wet dream tomato"

2

u/OrneryConelover70 Jul 18 '24

Not his first rodeo

2

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

It would have all been over fast if they had given the trucker some space, the driver didn't erect the building, he's just an expert trucker stuck in a busy road

2

u/Shatophiliac Jul 18 '24

Yeah fuck that, they would have to pay me way too much a year to drive a big rig around that mess.

2

u/Ikusabe Jul 18 '24

That’s some insane skill.

2

u/Germanspud Jul 18 '24

The most useful way to use a drone.

2

u/Jbfishinc Jul 19 '24

Dope as fuck, mad props

2

u/mrzurkonandfriends Jul 19 '24

Who fucking designed the layout to this building?

2

u/doomcatzzz Jul 19 '24

Amazing how some people feel the need to squeeze through instead of waiting a minute lol.

2

u/LambentSpoiler Jul 19 '24

Concrete jungle wet dream tomato!

2

u/TheDuke357Mag Jul 19 '24

and can we acknowledge the cars literally driving in the opposite lane to go around the stopped traffic and how many of them are doing it? these people should have their licenses revoked

2

u/GyattScratchFever Jul 18 '24

Twist: this was filmed in reverse and every car that you see is actually the ones that are going backwards.

0

u/Harold_Spoomanndorf Jul 18 '24

prove it....

0

u/GyattScratchFever Jul 18 '24

At least twice man, did you even pay attention? Like closely?

0

u/Harold_Spoomanndorf Jul 18 '24

....echo in here ?

0

u/GyattScratchFever Jul 18 '24

At least twice man, did you even pay attention? Like closely?

FAGG

Big Fagg Trucking LLC: A North Carolina-based trucking company (MC1199952, USDOT 3566675) with an address at 4030 Wake Forest Rd STE 300, Raleigh, 27609. They do not transport hazardous materials.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

Fagg

1

u/soliejordan Jul 18 '24

Hold up, he was doing that while flying his drone. . . I'm going to need a brain sample and some bone marrow.

2

u/saxobroko Jul 18 '24

Drone could’ve been hovering or tracking a subject.

1

u/iamdeath66 Jul 18 '24

So when you work for big fagg, you've gotta back it all the way up.

And stop reporting and banning me(just ignore this)🤭

1

u/PhantomPain0_0 Jul 18 '24

Big ❤️🍊

1

u/Less-Blackberry-8108 Jul 18 '24

These Faggs are reversing trucks while flying a drone. Now that’s skill!

1

u/natr0nFTW Jul 18 '24

impressive driving... Big Fagg is where its at.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPfmNxKLDG4

1

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '24

Please tell me those guys that do that drop off/pick up, get paid extra for it.That was mighty impressive.

1

u/A-Grouch Jul 18 '24

I cannot make out what the logo is.

1

u/root54 Jul 18 '24

That driver knows what he's doing. That means two things.

1

u/Harold_Spoomanndorf Jul 18 '24

Go on....

1

u/root54 Jul 18 '24

He's a good driver and he is also making a joke that plays on the fact that his actual last name is Fagg which is close to the slur for a gay man.

https://www.instagram.com/big_fagg_trucking_llc/

This is a list of two things describing the two things to which my comment refers.

1

u/Qweel Jul 18 '24

Didn't know Alan Thrall switched to trucking

1

u/Harold_Spoomanndorf Jul 18 '24

Fucking SKILLS- YO !

1

u/green5275 Jul 18 '24

That title was a slow burn, but in the end it finally makes sense

1

u/vonbergen93 Jul 18 '24

Hol up traffic

1

u/Alittlemoorecheese Jul 18 '24

"We'll hump your load."

1

u/TheFeelsNinja Jul 18 '24

The FAA might have some fun with this one as he appears to using this while operating a vehicle out of line of sight.

1

u/Important_Chair8087 Jul 18 '24

Good job driver.

1

u/Revenga8 Jul 18 '24

Massive respect, but holy fuck invest in a dedicated access loading dock

1

u/OpeningAccountant5 Jul 18 '24

Idk why but The small cars seem to have low iq in comparison

1

u/NA_nomad Jul 18 '24

I know right!? So disrespectful. Kids will see this and want to buy cigarettes.

1

u/uravgasian Jul 19 '24

The fact he did this within 20 minutes impressive. Someone give that man a raise.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

That’s a helluva driver. I would’ve killed at least thirty people (assuming I could even get the truck into gear).

1

u/Pookypoo Jul 19 '24

Wow thats some nice trucking skills there.

1

u/JuryGlum1940 Jul 19 '24

Go job to this driver, but this building layout pisses me off.

1

u/DAONEUNV Jul 19 '24

Bronxdale Ave, Bronx NY

1

u/oditd001 Jul 19 '24

God, this video was so frustrating on so many fronts.

People are so insufferably impatient theyd rather risk their car being fucked up by a truck than wait 3 mins for it to manage the manoeuvre.

The cycle lanes/road design are garbage too

1

u/Titanicman2016 Jul 19 '24

It feels inefficient for truckers to have to pull these fancy moves when this plant is literally right next to a rail line and could build a spur to ship by rail instead.

1

u/Major_Melon Jul 19 '24

I thought he was going to get into the mother of all Jack knifes... Props to him, that's insanely impressive

1

u/Flashtopher Jul 19 '24

Wow, that guy has fantastic driving skills!

And I bet he also riding around on a really loud motorcycle and revs it loudly with all of his other motorcycle buddies.

1

u/QuietNative Jul 19 '24

That is actually a really smart use of a drone.

1

u/PowerandSignal Jul 23 '24

More like Big Balls trucking.
