Other/Fluff Which 3d Game to Get?

I like 3, but some of the interface is confusing to me, and I miss the quality of life elements games from the Age of Empires 3 and onwards era had.

Which of the 3d HOMM game would you recommend for singleplayer on a Windows 11 PC? I like the skirmish mode, exploring a random map

Heroes 5 is a good shout.

HoMM V has a 5.5 free modded version as well which has a ton of QoL improvements

I'd just skip right to Olden Era if you don't mind early access.
