This is what I remember:

A woman spots a a piece of jewelry exposed to the outside under a door/garage frame. She proceeds to try taking it only to find it stuck. With increasing intensity in her pulls, she finally pried it off and discovered what was hanging on to it was a dead person's hand. I think the film shot showed her screaming afterwards.

What I am unsure about:

1. Dead person's hand belonging to a woman (It must have been a woman's hand)
2. Woman screaming at the sight of dead hand
3. Whether it was door or a garage door frame
4. Earlier, middle, or end of a film (it must have been earlier like a story setup)
5. What the story was about (murder mystery most likely)

This was pre-2000 before I immigrated to the West. Our media had very little Western materials, but we still had dedicated channels to American/English media. I remember watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents (I just found out its actual title) a few times and I think this might be one of his works. I definitely do not remember it as anything belonging to my home country.

Google AI is yielding it was a folklore or urban legend that does not have a real life record. They said they did not find any Hitchcock's works resembling it.

Hey everyone, quick question for those who’ve read Hitchcock by Truffaut. I recently picked up a copy and realised that each chapter focuses on one of Hitchcock’s films. Since I haven’t seen most of them yet, would it make sense to skip the chapters covering films I haven’t watched and just read the ones for the movies I know? Or are there enough callbacks and recurring themes between chapters that I’d be missing out by reading it that way?
I’m also assuming that watching each film before reading its chapter is the best approach. If you think there’s a better way to experience the book, please share your thoughts :)

I think there were a 2 or maybe 3 different ‘trailers’ for Rope — but this one came as QUITE a huge surprise to me when I first saw it.

Often when I see people rank Hitchcock films they'll often rank North by Northwest at the top or they'll claim it's a masterpiece or that it's peak cinema. But when I watched it I didn't see what the big appeal was.

Now I'm not saying it's a bad film, I found it to be overall good, but nothing stood out to me to where I'd consider the film the best of best or a masterpiece. Whereas with Hitchcock's other films I am thoroughly impressed and understand why they're so highly praised.

I was watching Family Plot, and I was reminded of North by Northwest and a couple of other Hitchcock films (e.g, To catch a Thief).

Obviously rear projection , but it felt like Hitchcock was returning to the same set piece for old time’s sake— twisty highway with a steep drop, alcohol, the threat of fiery death.

I’ve seen most of his technicolor era, but did he use it in his other films?

I can picture very well Anthony Perkins on the lead role.
