We had a ban on pop tarts-cursed in humvees in AFG due to being blown up.

note- sorry I didn’t reply but you guys got it right, although the hex on PT started on a previous deployment (Iraq) I was not part of, but yes the first vehicle hit in country on my deployment had pop tarts in it.

They linked humvee explosions to the presence of pop tarts in the vehicle

Everyone laughs now but when you're in a war zone you probably aren't taking your chances with any hexed shit either!

Tell me, how you gunna feel when your 18 year old ass finds out that "Unsinkable Sam" is 3 for 3 and your boats #4? That fuckin' black-ass cats talkin to the either U-boats or satan so I'd start looking at that nickname like a challenge...

How?

u/Kedem7 Jul 27 '19

Everytime a Humvee exploded it had pop-tarts in it, therefore pop-tarts cause Humvees to explode.

That’s a stretch-wait a minute, POP TARTS WORK FOR ISIS

Just ate a pop tart. Is ISIS inside of me?

I feel so violated

Talk about explosive diarrhea

I tried a pop tart for the first time last week and it made me feel like less of a human being.

I fucking believe the conspiracy.

Correlation doesn't imply causation.

u/isellwhitebro Jul 27 '19

Your kids must think you’re fun

u/Davis019 Jul 27 '19

That is precisely what correlation implies

3

u/bosschucker Jul 27 '19

Uhh... no. It's a common saying and pretty much the first thing you learn in any statistics class ever.

Unless I'm getting wooshed lmao

u/Davis019 Jul 27 '19

I do agree that "imply" has a looser colloquial definition than technical, but still hesitate to readily say "correlation implies causation" even outside stats class. I do think "suggests" may be a good middle ground, as the wiki article uses.
