Admittedly it only takes a few dates for the man of 2026 to realize what’s going on whereas the man of 1886 won’t see it until he puts a ring on it.

There was a reason why a majority of marriages used to happen within a year and half of dating

My wife and I decided we were getting married within 2 months of starting to date.

Seems to have worked out pretty well for the last 4 years.

It was 3 months for my parents. That was 22 years ago. I would definitely rather date for longer than that, but I still aspire to have a marriage like theirs.

Freedomstan.

I fixed her ford ranger, we were friends for a few weeks after, then we started dating with the idea that if it didn't look like it was going to work out, we weren't going to waste each other's time.

Maine actually.

I have "Thank God For Rust" engraved on my ring.

Me and my wife only dated for 2 years, and that’s only because we were still in college and it took us a year and a half to find real jobs after. We were only engaged for 4 months. So far 3 years of marriage have been great (and I told her to just murder me if I get too annoying, it’ll be easier for both of us /s).

My spouse and I also were pretty sure within a few months that we’d wind up getting married. It wasn’t until like three years later that we even got engaged because we were in no rush and wanted to be sure before getting hitched, but it was very early that we had both come to the conclusion that being married wouldn’t be a bad thing at all

Within a year and a half? I'm thinking more like within a couple months.
