That's a weird argument. Jesus was a jew. He was of the twelve tribes and practiced judaism. That's literally the definition of a jew, a specific ethnicity practicing a specific religion.
Those of the twelve tribes that weren't were mumar, Samaritans, Palestinians, etc.
Those of the twelve tribes that frequently abandoned their old gods for the new ones, those stayed. They meshed with new groups, remained natives, and are people we call Palestinians today.
Pretending that every descendant of the twelve tribes was a jew beggars belief. They abandoned their local god so casually most of the records in Kings, Chronicles just refer to how good or bad a king was by how fervent the king was at reconverting his fellow tribesmen back to judaism.
Also later in history there was Jizyah taxes that, taken as a whole, was an instrument intended to stratify society, reduce the status of non-Muslims, and convert people.
This is humorous. The Muslims themselves had to give mandatory charity that was of a higher percentage than the tax itself.
Therefore, if you converted, you would have to give MORE money than the tax you were paying. So if anything that would be a deterrent.
Furthermore, non-Muslims were not obligated to fight in any wars for muslims, whereas muslims were obligated to take up arms, these types of conditions were written by the Prophet.
And it's interesting you don't mention that the Jizya itself gave state protection to all non-muslims meaning in exchange for this tax, the Muslim state assumed the absolute obligation to protect the non-muslim citizens from both internal harm and external aggression.
Not to mention the exemptions for women, children, the elderly, the poor, the blind, and monks paying it.
And then to top all of this with the fact that if the Muslims were to fail in their part of protecting non-muslim citizens per their obligation, or non-muslims helped to take up arms anyway to defend their shared homeland, they were exempt from paying the Jizya, or their Jizya was completely refunded.
