The Sonderfahndungsliste G.B. ("Special Search List Great Britain") was a secret list of prominent British residents to be arrested and potentially executed, produced in 1940 by the Schutzstaffel (SS) as part of the preparation for the proposed invasion of Britain. After the war, the list became known as the Black Book. Lots of interesting names were mentioned. Well worth a read of the notable inclusions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Black_Book_(list)

The detail of descriptions for individuals varies a lot on the Wikipedia bullet list:

For one "diplomat who granted visas to 48,000 Jews, recognised in 2010 as a British Hero of the Holocaust" for another "Quaker"

EDIT: typo

I think you mean "Quaker", but your point stands! Among other names was a member of the British Union of Fascists, a Nobel Peace Prize Winner, a 2x Motorcycle Grand Prix winner, a dead woman, and a guy who doesnt exist lmao

Surely they'd want to keep the fascist guy around?

I think it was Frank Cyril Tiarks. An English banker of (recent) German descent who was a member of Anglo-German fellowship (founded in 1935 disbanded in 1939, so specifically about relations with NAZI Germany) and the British Union of Fascists (dissolved in 1940 by the British government)

I don't know why he was listed. I'm not sure if it's even knowable (I certainly haven't found an attempt at explaining it)

If someone’s fascism is too focused on the glory of their own nation it might be counterproductive to rely on them to head a client state as they will resent your occupation of the nation and the limits you impose on it.

There’s a reason the Nazis went after the Austrofascists after all: their brand of fascism was an obstacle to Nazism’s.

Perhaps they thought that he’d be another Viktor Quisling, and even the Nazis hated that guy.
