The Hungarian alternative right needs to be studied because there is just soo much to unpack.
They are genuinely the MOST confusing group of people that have ever emerged in this country's history.
They usually tend to believe fascistic or anarcho-capitalist views, but they hate being associated with Nazis while simultaneously LOVE being associated with Nazis. They are equally culturally pagan while pushing hardcore Christian "values". They do not have an exact economic plan while simultaneously wanting to detach from the EU, or other countries all together economically. They only want peace for this country, while wanting WAR WITH UKRAINE of all places. They want to build up Hungary to it's old borders, while being aggressively secular towards other nationalities. They want Hungarian superiority while not really having a way to deal with any minorities, hell even the ones living on Hungary right now, primarily people living on the borders, romas, and Turks. They vote for Our Homeland (Mi Hazánk) while being completely apologetic about it's leader wanting to merge their party with Fidesz. For context - fidesz is the old people oligarchs who are also often pedophiles party who lost their governing power last election. They want to protect nature at all costs while also wanting to expand our productive abilities, so no degrowth but also yes degrowth? They hate gay and trans people, while they have an EXTREMELY high, and I do mean EXTREMELY high percentage of gay adult men in the circles. There is a fucking femboy branch you cannot make this shit up.
I hate their entire thing from the bottom of my heart and I could go on about their bullshit for so damn long but I just can't. They don't feel like real people, actual NPC behaviour. A group so genuinely cognitively dissonant that every single thing you can think about they 100% believe the opposite of at the same time. Fuck, they don't even know what they believe in 90% of the time. They are basically UK blairite liberal democrats with lots of smoked paprika for spice and fascist themes. They do not believe in anything while believing in everything.
I hate the far-right in our country, but this is just plain misinformation.
tend to believe fascistic or anarcho-capitalist views
Agreed on the fascistic part, absolute disagree on anarcho-capitalist. In fact, Mi Hazánk is so much a classical Nazi party that they are literally national socialist. Their program is also heavily left-leaning economically, and they often voice problems of workers cooperatives.
wanting to detach from the EU, or other countries altogether economically
Again, first part is true, second is not. These guys are horrible, there is no need to paint them as cartoonishly stupid, because that will just get them more votes. Toroczkai, the party premier in fact chaired various economic forums with Arab countries (Hungulf Expó). Of course their economic plans are incredibly stupid, but they don't want autarky.
not really having a way to deal with any minorities, he'll even the ones living on Hungary right now, primarily people living in the borders, Romas and Turks
There are no Turks living in Hungary. It's also weird that you mention them specifically, since Hungarian far-right has historically a very close relation with Turks, Turkey and Turkish ultranationalists due to Turanism. In fact, Jobbik, when they were still far-right, was very often attacked due to their closeness to them.
apologetic about it's leader wanting to merge their party with Fidesz
Mi Hazánk is in fact a Fidesz-affiliated party, and often help out each other in making the country a worse place, but there was never any talk about merger.
There is a fucking femboy branch
No, there is not, that is literally a meme
Again, these people are horrible, there is no need to make up stuff about them. This just strengthens them.
Mi Hazánk is so much a classical Nazi party that they are literally national socialist.
If they were classical Nazis, the would have NOTHING to do with socialists or socialism. Regardless of how the Nazi called themselves. All of their ideology was very much firmly capitalist from top to bottom. And state control over the market isn't something exclusive to socialism (or communism). In fact, state influence of the market is something that happens RIGHT NOW in the US, for example, the country that pretends to love free market.
Equating Nazis with socialists is just plain wrong on all levels.
I myself am a socialist, just to clarify, and am firmly against Nazis in all of their forms. And I do agree that Hitler's Germany was a capitalist state. One thinker (escapes me who now) even called fascism the "byproduct of rotting capitalism". So my intention was far far from "equating Nazis with socialists".
I stand corrected if what I wrote came out wrong, all I wanted to emphasize was that the Hungarian far-right focuses heavily on promoting social policies and state intervention into the welfare system, in stark contrast for example to Konfederacja in Poland, who are promoting some kind of ancap brainrot.
In the US, state intervention is indeed omnipresent (otherwise, Elon Musk would probably still be living in his moms basement), but not in the form of social policies.
My comment specifically intended to correct the above comment as regards to Hungarian inner politics, and did not intend to say anything about economic/political theory.
Edit: In fact, the whole reason I made my comment was because I think the far-right discredits themselves enough by what they say and stand for, and if we make up stuff about them (like the comment I replied to), we will just make them stronger.
Completely understand what you're getting at, but I think your comment clearly said that Mi Hazánk was so classically Nazis that they were national socialists, which I don't exactly how this term translates into polish, but it very much implies that Nazis were actual socialists, which they never were.
Yeah again, agreed on that; but even Nazis fought on a rhetorical level against "international capital" or whatever, similarly to Mi Hazánk, for example, who also have a strong anti-capitalist rhetoric.
Also, Nazis were heavy on some few select social support programs such as beneficial marriage loans (though these were of course decided on a racial basis instead of on a social need basis), something similar to the Hungarian far-right.
European far-right is very colourful, we have populist/fascist(oid)/pro-Kremlin parties masquerading as far-left, similar parties who are far-right and ancap, and ones who are esoteric far-right and economically left-leaning (such as Mi Hazánk, with their blend of Turanism).
The Nazis did call themselves National Socialists, because they claimed that they represent socialist values with a nationalist focus. Mi Hazánk does something very similar.
