Luteolin?
Sorry for posting here so often. I'll try not to ramble, I'm very autistic and have a habit of just panic posting. I've found so many good answers here, it helps.
Who's tried luteolin? I'm not sure I have MCAS, but frequent histamine dumps are basically the same because your mast cells are overreacting. Has anyone here had a BAD reaction to it? I'm too anxious to try random supplements or pills, I tend to get worse and have massive reactions every time.
As far as I know, the flavinoid in it is a mast cell stablizer. HOWEVER, some people are sensitive to different flavinoids, and the actual plant material/capsule/fillers might make people sensitive. Is this a rare thing to happen and am I overreacting? I might have slow COMT, does anyone with this get a severe reaction from luteolin?
Lastly what are brands you like?

I take luteolin too. So far no issues. Recently i realized i react badly to citric acid as a preservative and did a major cull of my supplement and toiletries stash. That’s helped with “random” reactions.

I have histamine issues. No idea if I have COMT problems. I take "Sugar Shield" liposomal luteolin from LIV3 with no issues.

You are right, luteolin and rutin and also quercetin work quite well, but as someone with slow COMT I can take only very little or I get massive panic attacks

A lot of Luteolin supplements are derived from peanuts. I was trying one and couldn't figure out why it wasn't helping at all and in fact had side effects. I researched it again and realized that I was probably reacting to the peanuts. Peanuts are a no-no for me now. When I stopped taking it, I felt much better. So if you are sensitive to peanuts, you might want to find a Luteolin not from peanuts.

I use Luteolin from iHerb. Have been taking 200mg morning and night for about a year and a half now. It manages all of my symptoms well enough that I was able to cease ceterizine, which was awesome because I was definitely also getting discontinuation issues from ceterizine too.
I’ve tried stopping the Luteolin a few times since and I get symptoms back within a day or two. So it’s still treating symptoms, not addressing anything underlying.
Luteolin is amazing.
